The Parkes Companies have expanded the vision even further for their Avalon development at the intersection of East McEwen Dr. and Cool Springs Parkway on the eastern edge of Franklin/Cool Springs area. The revised plan calls for 614 residential units (up from 510), 64,000 sq. ft. of office space, a 7 screen movieplex (up form a single 530 seat theater), a potential grocery store, food hall, gas station and day care (as part of the 300,000 sq. ft. of retail).  Franklin's Municipal Planning Commission voted 7-1 to recommend approval in December. The Broad of Mayor and Aldermen have set March 12 for a public hearing and vote.

It really just depends on what kind of music one prefers, I suppose.  I know some people say that Bonnaroo has lost some of it's luster in recent years, and that may be true.  But I still think they do the best job of any festival in this country of putting together an eclectic music lineup that includes a little something for everyone, and that is to say nothing about the comedy acts they include or the diverse array of visual and culinary arts that always grace the grounds there.  I mean, take a look at this year's lineup.  What other festival is going to give you a mix of Kacey Musgraves, Cardi B, Lonely Island, Phish, Odesza, Childish Gambino etc. Etc... there aren't many, if any, in my opinion, and for someone such as myself who likes pretty much every genre of music to some degree, that is a very appealing quality indeed.  Just my two cents.  :)

Parks Hospitality from Raleigh has purchased 2.3 acres on Liberty Pike, on which it will build a 135-room True (by Hilton) hotel Construction will start in August. No rendering, but the photo (example) shown with the article (True hotel in Bowling Green, KY) is typical unremarkable suburban stuff.
