Nashville food and beverage scene

Wiseacre Brewery (Memphis) is now available here.  Just picked up a sixer of their Ananda IPA at the Inglewood Kwik Sak.

It's a good IPA. Filling Station (east) has been carrying that one and several other Wiseacre offerings on tap.

Btw, I'm excited the Filling Station finally has their license to serve on premises.

Noticed that!  Got a growler of Tiny Bomb, the pilsner, at Hops and Crafts.  While I was there, I tried a bit of some kind of ale from the new Honky Tonk brewery that opened up in metrocenter. . .  It wasn't my cup of tea.

I tried the Wiseacre Ananda last night at Hops & Crafts as well! I liked it quite a bit... Much lighter than IPAs have been trending lately, but in a good way.

Glad they have made their way to Nashville as well. I thought I had seen the name before, but didn't realize it was so new to our area. A good addition to the TN craft scene!

EDIT: By the way, for those who don't know--Hops & Crafts has 1/2 price Tennessee brewed pints on Tuesdays and $1/$2 off of growler fills. The wife and I each had a pint last night for less than $5 total before tip.

Sam's expanding into the old Bosco's space with their own brewery. http://www.tennessean.com/story/life/food/2015/01/07/sams-sports-bar-open-brewery-former-boscos/21397135/

I thought I had read that Bosco's sold their equipment to one of the brew pubs going in in Germantown, but this says Sam's took it over.

Picked up a growler of the Wiseacre coffee milk stout at Craft Brewed tonight. I highly recommend. After a long week, perfect accompaniment to a night in with the fam and another Preds win! Edited by CenterHill

Dozen Bakery to open in Wedgewood-Houston on Monday!  http://nashville.eater.com/2015/1/30/7951949/dozen-bakery-wedgewood-houston-opening

The owner has operated as a catering/farmer's market only business for a few years.  Pies and cookies are the best in Nashville, and that's no lie.

8 New Nashville Bars & Restaurants to Check Out Right Now

http://www.thrillist.com/eat/nashville/new-nashville-bars-restaurants-to-check-out-right-now

These are definitely on my list to try.

***I was trying to figure out where/what this "UP, A Rooftop Lounge" is, and it is on the rooftop of the new Fairfield Inn in the Gulch. Definitely would be a cool place to get a drink or a late night snack with a view. The view is amazing.

I tried out FLIP.  It was pretty good, but i wasn't blown away.  The burgers weren't as experimental as I'd been led to believe.

Potbelly Sandwich Shop opening first Nashville location

http://www.bizjournals.com/nashville/blog/2015/02/potbelly-sandwich-shop-opening-first-nashville.html

1st tenant for Gulch Crossings. I expect they will be announcing many more tenants in the coming weeks.

I do miss Potbelly from when I lived in Chicago.  There is also a Potbelly on the circle in downtown Indianapolis.  One thing that I will say about Potbelly is that they know how to keep a line moving, and their catering order forms were always efficient.  That efficiency is a key attribute for success when a large part of your customer base is office workers who are on the clock, as it were.  So being located downtstairs at Gulch Crossing seems like a good fit to me.
