Well... it's better than the grassy nook they originally planned. They probably realized it would become a doggy "potty park" more than a pocket park. Maybe this will become a selfie park where visitors take pictures instead.

If anything, they should erect seasonal silhouette stations along the Rosalind Club gate where people can stand in front of them and take pictures (e.g. like the obligatory angel wings and other Orlando-inspired gimmicks). The good kind of pedestrian traffic would discourage riff raff from hanging around or transients trying to camp out next to the building... especially if stragglers get in the way of their precious selfie stations.

I will say that the lights around Lake Eola are very nice. The giant satan... I mean Santa hat wasn't on but it was very nice to walk around the lake. Much better than Disney Springs.

I wish they’d keep them year round. Or have a rotating set of decorations to match various seasons/holidays.

Yes, the holiday decorations for lake eola have improved so much over the years and and kept the park pretty busy even on colder nights.

I thought I recalled a few years back when the replaces the incandescent soldiers and trees with the LED snowflakes and did all that new stuff at Lake Eola they mentioned they paid back the costs of those lights in 2 years or something else alarmingly short.

I like that. It reminds me of what they do in Chicago with the BCBS Building next to Big Stan facing Millenium Park...during holidays they put messages and colored lights on it.  It's a tall rectangular building with a very flat facade, similar color, but, of course, way taller...

But I dig the giant banner here.

I know! It was packed when I was there and it was freezing.

Saw this off International Drive today.  It was advertising an all you can lobster place.  Only in Orlando!

I saw it driving down Rosalind at Washington directly on the entrance to Lake Eola Park last week. Funny car!

Couple more photos on the way out of town again.  Love that real contemporary orange office building I think I saw it is a orthopedic clinic.   And the still unfinished but getting closer to tower along I-4 north of the city.

Love the new I-4 and express lanes through the city.

I'm a big fan of the Rothman building at Princeton & I-4... it's location more than anything and proximity to I-4...

HostDime is cool...

The Majesty Building...ah geez...if they would just finish it they can collect rent instead of milking viewers of Superchannel 55... dunno...

I love to compare Google Street View images, so I figure I'd save a couple and share them here. A couple of my favorite intersections that transformed in the last 5-15 years:

We have come a long way in Orlando  whether we want to acknowledge this or not. These are all pretty impressive changes to corridors. We still have more to improve but this urbanism and retrofitting has done more than tall buildings would. Just my thoughts.
