What seems to have completely stalled, which I think was Orlando’s forte for condo units, is the smaller niche style townhouse infill projects that people seem to gravitate to in downtown Orlando neighborhoods. This helped to fill out the Main Street districts nicely with a mix of residential styles. A perk for high rise living is have a prized view to gaze out at. Orlando just doesn’t have that and never will. That is why we tend to see the taller developments pop up around lakes, whenever they do materialize.

The plan he was aligned with to move the Capitals to VA was squashed. How much political will does he really have among VA voters?

I think it’ll pass. Those Villagers, who vote en masse, will surely be aligned with legalization. That would offset any other conservative bloc.

Doubt it - DeSantis is wholly out of touch with the average American. While Trump just attaches himself to whatever view he believes will get him elected, DeSantis has shown that he actually believes that his platform is somehow in touch with voters.

Given how lopsided and mismanaged it has been, I would not be surprised at all if the State came in and used the money elsewhere. Not that I trust the state of Florida to use it for anything other than partisan projects.

Kissimmee has run out of new land -- all new development will now be considered redevelopment. The "lawn" of the performing arts center was not completed as per the original vision. Given that it is quite literally the front lawn for Orlando, I think it deserves attention it is not getting.

I happened to be in New Rochelle NY over the weekend and was getting envy from what they’ve accomplished over the last few decades.

Completion of the vision for the performing arts center should be a priority before expansion of Lake Eola.

You are so hung up on who is Red or Blue that you forget details. Or maybe you don’t, I wouldn’t know. For the record, if DeSatan was a Democrat I’d probably be an Independent myself. This statement has nothing to do with what actual party I choose to support — just sayin’

You seem to have forgotten that Paula Dockery pulled every trick out of a hat to kill Sunrail and then governor Scott continually delayed state funding for it through legislative delays. It was the local counties in bi-partisan measure led largely by Buddy Dyer who fought tooth and nail against Tea Party Republicans and they eventually won.

It’s more than that. They are significantly more land restricted than Central Florida and their economies are more diverse. Construction is the second largest economy driver after tourism in Orlando and that endless sprawl has a lot to do with it.

If there isn’t enough money for it, one must ask where it’s going instead of the most clogged artery in Florida. Why is DeShameless wasting your tax dollars to put up signs at the entrance to Disney called the Central Florida Oversight District? Florida is doing a lot of things wrong right now but term limits are not one of them.

This should be unacceptable. That is atrocious. Gotta wonder what is going on at City Hall — this isn’t an out of the way location. The firm designed buildings back in the late 90s that were passable.

I totally disagree. Why should the tallest building in Orlando simply disappear?

I’d go with a copper finish to compliment Orlando City Hall but I highly doubt that is in their budget.

I agree it’s bad zoning, but on behalf of the apartments, 7-11, and Vista Cay. Those were built knowing that Universal was putting a theme park and hotels literally in their backyard. Universal Blvd was built as an extension of the tourism district of I-Drive. For that reason, I think it’s fair game for W to build a 22 floor hotel there. It’s less than mile from the 428’ Hyatt Regency and even closer to the 15 floor Rosen Shingle Creek.
