Because you missed the point I was trying to make — there's a general trend in the industry toward predominantly glass designs, and I don't think anyone can argue that. Of course there are exceptions in Nashville. But given your post history, engaging further would be a fruitless endeavor.

The St. Regis Hotel & Residences will be 46 stories/611' tall, with 177 hotel rooms, 100 condos, 32 furnished residences, 25,000 sq. ft. of restaurant/retail space, 542 parking spaces (including 3 levels underground), 15,000 sq. ft. of condo amenities, and 18,300 sq. ft. of hotel amenities.  Morris Adjmi is the architect firm. RaganSmith is in charge of engineering.  Hoer Schaudt is the landscape architect.

The team will go before the MDHA Design Review Committee on Tuesday, May 14, to seek concept plan approval.

The United States offers only 10 St. Regis hotels, with Atlanta the city located within closest proximity to Nashville and with the high-end five-star brand. Nashville would offer the smallest population of those cities with a St. Regis were the hotel operational in SoBro today.

The tower will stand 225' taller than the JW Marriott immediately to the east, and 126' taller than the Autograph Hotel (set to break ground this year) across Demonbreun St. to the north.  Once 1010 Church St. is completed at 750', the St. Regis Tower will be the 2nd tallest in the city (technically the AT&T Tower is 617', but well over 100' of that are the spires).  St. Regis will be taller than the proposed 800 Lea (610'), and proposed 1001 Church/Amazon Three (609').

The JW is 386 and the SR is 611.

That had to be a typo.   St. Regis will be 222" taller than the JWM.

Agreed 110%!!!!  So happy with this design and the height is the icing on the cake!  I commented earlier in this string that I hoped it wouldn't have a glass curtain.  Smiling from ear-to-ear!!

That design with the multiple setbacks looks like it would be right at home in Manhattan.  This is a game changer for us.  Hope it comes through exactly as proposed.  Hoping we can get two of the three 600 footers to actually go up.

I just woke up and seeing my first notification be “St. Regis Nashville will be…” from the UP Twitter is not bad to wake up to! This is really impressive and I love the way the building tapers in as it goes up. Totally agree that this is a stately building that could easily be found in Manhattan. I do love that it isn’t just another glass box, but I must say I wish it had a bit more material depth or at least some sort of wow factor architecturally. I suppose the St. Regis brand is known for being a little bit understated, but in a luxury way haha. Overall though, it’s extremely exciting and impressive that we’re getting one of these! The fact that we will have this brand, but Los Angeles or Philadelphia or Austin won’t is a real testament to how impressive the status of this city has become
