When driving by that monstrosity yesterday I realized that the prefab communist era apartment blocks that I posted from East Berlin were more aesthetically appealing than Haven.

Totally agreed.  At least the sort of blend into their surroundings to some degree.  Haven is just like a big ugly turd plopped down right in the forefront of one of the better skyline views.

Interesting that google still shows this as part of 9th Ave S with one-way traffic flow.

Do we have any other examples where a private development has gate controlled access to a public alley?

The irony with regards to this image is, that in this thread there is incessant nattering and caterwauling from some posters about glauss bauxeses. Yet going by this image most of the buildings aren't glauss. And the buildings that are glauss aren't bauxeses. The non glass buildings are the ones that are the so called bauxeses, and the glass buildings are the ones that have either distinctive features and/or shapes that set them apart from each other. Hmm...

Excerpt from NP article today.  Anyone with insight?  Wondering what to read into this.

In other business, the design review committee did not vote on the concept plan for a St. Regis hotel and residential tower project planned for downtown Nashville. Instead, the committee gathered information about the project from the development company, Miami-area-based Turnberry, seeking the project.
