I just did a random weekend in February for BNA-BZN, Kayak shows fares around $350 on United, $390 on Southwest, and $120 on Allegiant. You can buy 3 seats on Allegiant for the price of 1 on a Legacy or on Southwest.

Southwest likes to advertise how cheap their fares are, but if you're not worried about trying to check a bag or make changes then there's often not much of a reason to fly them unless you're looking for a specific direct route not served by other airlines or you can get lucky with a fare sale. On my most travelled route (DCA-BNA), Southwest is rarely the most economical choice. I usually just fly American.

If they have a flight between BNA and Jackson Wyoming, that would be the one I think that would be a winner for Yellowstone. Bozman would be better for Glacier NP. When I flew up there, I had to fly through Dallas.

Yellowstone and the Tetons. And Jackson itself.

 

I would commit murder to get a flight to Jackson. It's extremely unlikely it will happen.

I've used the Provo flight several times and it's always full.  It's much less hassle than flying into SLC and is very convenient to ski resorts like Sundance and Alta.  Sundance, in particular, is a straight shot up Provo Canyon from PVU.  The entire Wasatch Front is growing like wildfire, the Provo MSA now at nearly 700,000, nearly double its 2020 population of 376k.  There's always been a lot of interaction between Provo and Nashville because of the music industry, believe it or not.  Back in the days of Opryland, BYU--my beloved alma mater--was Opryland's top recruiting school.  Nashville is a top destination for BYU grads.  I'll never forget going to the BYU-MTSU game a few years ago in Murfreesboro where BYU fans easily outnumbered MTSU fans.  Provo's booming economy is attracting new residents from all over (particularly the West), but it's still pretty cool that Nashville is one of the few places in the East that has nonstop flights to PVU.

I flew WestJet one way from Halifax, NS direct to London after disembarking from a Royal Navy ship there and getting a flight back to the UK. Only time I've ever flown WestJet but it was a good experience, glad to see they're expanding ops at BNA!

Not that I can find. Southwest announced it to fly in 2020 but obviously we know what happened.

Alaska jumping is a good thing with them expanding more options and also capturing those fellow OneWorld FFs that are growing in numbers in the area.

RDU just got their 6th foreign flag carrier with Aeromexico with new nonstop from Raleigh Durham to Mexico City.

Aeromexico Launches New Service to Raleigh-Durham Int’l Airport – Airways (airwaysmag.com)

so three European carriers with Icelandair, Air France, Lufthansa (starting next year) and Air Canada, BahamasAir and now Aeromexico.   Charlotte  has 2 Mexican airlines, AirCanada and Lufthansa.  So 4 foreign flag carriers at CLT  so RDU has us  beat in that department.

I don't know as the definition of that ranking seems subjective, ranging from Southwest, to JetBlue, to Delta, depending upon your sourcing.

I've flown them multiples times from Austin to San Diego, Seattle, and Kodiak, AK, and they're pretty frantastic. The fact you can purchase an actual small meal ahead of time in economy is a great thing to have. Their first class service is also really good but by far the best food I've had on any airline, domestic at least, in that cabin. Huge plus, those warm & gooey chocolate chip cookies as a dessert. 

It'll be difficult with Southwest's intense foothold, but hopefully Alaska fires a few other shots over the bow, like to San Francisco or San Diego to offer more options for BNA travelers.

Judging from my recent visit to Raleigh and its satellite cities Durham and Chapel Hill, the Research Triangle area overall appears more affluent than the Nashville MSA. It’s also a tad more populous. I also was impressed with the lack of litter. Nashville roads are always full of trash. What kind of person simply throws their fast food containers out their windows?

Don’t forget if you’re flying out of BNA using Spirit Airlines or Allegaint Airlines, you might want to give yourself a little more time to the new Satellite hub at BNA. This will require a shuttle over.

I flew them from DCA to SFO for work a few weeks ago, it was great. Best airline experience I've had in a long time. The United return flight was a Greyhoud ride in comparison.
