Thats not counting the like 600 that were added in Ashland City that week too. The barge company added 300 and a boat manufacturing company announced it was opening a plant with almost that many jobs across the highway. These are blue collar jobs, not the white collar high end jobs, but just as important.

Put this in perspective that this is only a mile outside of Metro Davidson line

another Wall St Journal article in todays paper below what is missing is the chart.  Basically most of  the has been also ran cities are doing better than NYC and DC area in job growth and unemployment rate.  

Austin Unemployment rate 2.9%  Growth in labor force since 2010  24%

Raleigh 2.9%   and 18% growth

Nashville 3%  and 15%

compared to NYC at 3.9% and labor growth of 3% and DC area with 3.3% unemployment and labor growth 8%

Not sure why they considered Nashville in this other than it did not get the HQ2 which was split in 2

This bodes well for UT Knoxville's internationally acclaimed supply chain management program. I expect a lot of Tennessee grads will be trying to get the foot in the door with Amazon.

I would like to see TSU's proposal for a large piece of land on it's campus, be developed into an IT college with first class curriculum, and a draw for workshops and meetings that bring all the smart people from around the country to discuss new ideas and development.

It would certainly require major public and private development. It seems like it would be in the interests of major IT dependent businesses in the City and State to provide support.

No I doubt it, but Glover doesn't let common sense stop him. He just wants his name in the news as much as possible.

I wish he would go after the real problems effecting the budget.
