What will the digital signs be used for?       I hope they have the capacity to display video.     

I remember being excited when the Bridgestone announced they were installing an LED display on the back side of the arena, but was disappointed with the actual product, a small-ish screen that only displays static images.

30 year lease ready, just needs to be approved.and signed.

Highlights:

Ending city subsidies.     Increasing facilities fee on tickets.   Preds free to renovate. 

First plan is to add 1,200 new seats, and add an actual press box. I'd say some of those seats will come from the current press area. Looks like additional club area as well on the short end. 

I'm sure Mark will have ALL the details.

A few more details about the long-range plans for the arena:

Under the plan, the first major upgrade will come in 2021 when the franchise intends to add about 1,200 seats to the upper level in addition to a new press box.

Predators President Sean Henry said a new tower at the northwest corner of the arena, where city offices were located, remains a possibility. A 2017 venue study identified that part of the building as a possible hotel in the future.

And Henry identified the southeast side of the building, which currently houses a large rehearsal hall that country artists use before launching their tours, as an opportunity for renovations as well.

I spent a lot of time looking at the above photo to see where 1,200 new seats are. Is it all above the fan zone? It looks like SRO. I know Scotiabank arena in Toronto has SR0 above the  upper seating decks, they ran $110 for the second to final home game of the season this year. I've always thought that if expansion was possible it would take place on the south end.  My hope is that they wrap the two VU support columns with digital boards like the ones at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta and Ford Field in Detroit.

Anyway this deal is a win win for the Predators and Metro. I've been to about 15 different NHL/NBA arenas and Bridgestone Arena is the one of the nicest I've been in, It would be awesome to still be able to say that 30 years from now.

Side note: FedExForum in Memphis is just behind Bridgestone in "niceness" as well, in my opinion.

Nashville Sports Authority approves the new Predators deal at Bridgestone that will have the team pouring at least $350 million into upgrades/expansion in the next 30 years.

WOW!!!  When does a video board get too big for an arena?

Love the Preds... and I know it's a not in the works, but I still want the NBA for Nashville ... ;)  

Has a city every hosted both the NBA and NHL playoffs at the same time?  I'm imploding just thinking about that in Nashville... LOL!!!

NBA ain't happening anytime soon unless the Grizzlies decide to move east 10+ years from now when Nashville has 50,000 Amazon and Oracle employees and some other new corporate HQs.

If this board is like some of the other newer boards I've seen, there are actually video screens at the bottom inside of the video board so lower levels have additional clear vantages.

Boston, and Toronto this year. LA and Chicago have done it in the past. And I'm sure NYC has before.

I believe it's heavier. There are a lot of teams in the league putting in new center hung boards this year, Carolina, Washington, Philly, Boston, Chicago to name a few.

I like the theme the Preds are going for with the fangs on the edges. They'll probably light up special for the PP and hopefully bring good mojo along with it.

Looking forward to seeing this thing live next month although Sean Henry said that it be at 80% use until they figure out all of its capabilities as the season progresses.
