Robertson County:  A Florida-based real estate firm recently announced plans to bring a 75,000-square-foot shopping center to White House that will be anchored by a Publix grocery store.

Robertson County deeds show The Sembler Co., a real estate firm based in St. Petersburg, paid $3.05 million this month for the 19.8-acre parcel of land near the intersection of Raymond Hirsh Parkway and Highway 76 that will house the shopping center, called White House Shops.

Publix has signed a lease for a 48,387-square-foot store that will be flanked by 11,000-square-feet of shop space. The property will also have two additional buildings that offer another 9,000 square feet of shop space.

“Our leasing team is already negotiating with several notable retail and restaurant names, but we have space for more medical and health services as well as dining options and other soft goods and service providers,” Beyer said in the release.

The property also has space for future development of a 4,500-square-foot building as well as an outparcel that can accommodate an 8,900-square-foot building with drive-thru capabilities.

The project is expected to break ground in July and is expected to open by summer 2024

Relocate the Sounds to Clarksville and make them the AAA affiliate to the Nashville Stars. Could be very similar to the proximity that the Red Sox have with their affiliate team in Worcester. Would obviously take some re-arranging of the minor league to make it happen, but would also be very cool!

I love that idea.  And we don't need to look all the way to Boston.  Atlanta's AAA affiliate is in suburban Gwinnett County about a half hour away from the Braves' home field.

I haven't had a chance to read through the article completely yet, but sounds like the usual suspects to me.  "Too much" height and density blah blah blah 🤣
