It looks like there are new plaza proposals for the next ARB meeting.

The overall layout is very similar to the June ARB meeting proposal, with a few changes that were requested.

One large change is that the pavilion has been omitted with an option to add it in the future.

They have added earthen berms to the north parcel near the plaza for seating

They have also requested (and staff is recommending) approval for a theatrical fountain.

Fountain design will have a variety of functions and options. The base design will have 4 basins with short bubblers. The
future functions could have laminar flows from each of the 4 fountains as well as tall jets that could be choreographed to
music.

Where did you see the ARB doc? Care to share?

Thank goodness that pavilion is gone!   (Eyesore! Bum hangout! Non symmetric! Only will be used six times per year! You drive south on Orange, and your instantly distracted by it, taking the sight line away from the the actual DPAC. Not to mention the gathering of bums gathered under it to get out of the rain.)

Key points:

The final phase of construction is tied to a multi-venue deal

Officials are hopeful that starting construction by the beginning of 2015 will allow the center to be completed by 2018.

Even with the $25 million in tourist-tax revenue from the multivenue deal, the second phase would need an additional $37 million.

From the early phase of this project, they were gonna used the "rent/lease/income" from that three private (hotel/office) lots to help fund the DPAC.

- Are they marketing those lots?

- Is it that tough to get anyone to build anything on those prime lots? (Even Fashion Sqaure mall can get a Element hotel.)

- Why cant they just sell those land to the developer to fund the final phase of the construction?

Matt can u find out...lol...sorry..u seem to know a lot of insiders...

The pavilion will probably be much more successful than you think although enclosing it with A/C would be preferable. Lincoln Center has 1 sublime restaurant and a very nice cafe that attracts people all day. From a funding standpoint, the pavilion will be an additional source of revenue for the foundation and add to the mixed-use nature of the complex.

@sunshine I'd rather see those side lots remain as green spaces as well. Orlando is only going to get more dense over the years and this location will become a generational treasure.
