I would love to see something of substantial height be built on the parking lot that is next to the NASCAR HQ, in front of 550 Stonewall. That would make the approach to Caldwell from South Blvd appear much more dense. Plenty of potential along Caldwell for future dev.

that is owned by the city and probably future convention center expansion. Possibly they could put a hotel on top it.

But then the clock would be covered up. Haha

Was Uptown tonight and DEC's lighting seemed closer to aqua than to blue. Is that new ?

That building is capable of being any color of the rainbow (literally, go Uptown during Charlotte Pride) I'm not sure what it's default color is, but it's almost never the same color two nights in a row. Usually it's for charities, awareness, sporting events, holiday's, etc.

That is the twitter account for the lighting committee at the building, and it explains why it's colored the way it is. Looks like tonight was for Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Bank of America Corporate Center never had a public observation area as this Charlotte 5 article states.  Not before 9/11/2011 not ever.  There was and maybe still is a corporate dining room on the 60th floor but not sure if that is up there.  https://www.charlottefive.com/charlotte-skyline-explained/

I got to go to the dining room about a decade ago. It is a heck of a view from up there.

"  Those that have been up there, do you have any pics?  Was it all enclosed or could you walk out on one of those indentions up there?

Everywhere I went, and I was invited up a few times for either breakfast or lunch, there was never any opportunity to walk outside. Pretty sealed up. There was a general open area, which, ironically had the shades pulled as a presentation went on, and then another area of private rooms for dining. That was nice.  I probably have pictures somewhere.  I can tell you, the streets, cars and people below look really tiny from up there. Seems like Empire State Building height looking down.

I wasn’t sure if there was a forum regarding car sharing, but I received a ticket yesterday for parking in a Zipcar spot uptown near the UNCC Uptown Building.  I take full responsibility for not paying attention to the signs, though I would argue that a green zip car sign would definitely help make the smart more conspicuous.  As someone who has lived in Charlotte for sometime, I kind of have the parking policy for various streets Uptown memorized  and it was a bit of a curveball.

@KJHburg beautifully composed photo of the historic First National Bank Building (112 Tryon Plaza) also showcases Charlotte's exceedingly handsome stand of willow oaks as well as Raymond Kaskey's monumental sculpture of a female mill worker with  a child at her feet, a quintessential image of Charlotte's late 19th and early to mid-20th century industrialization and growth.

This is what Charlotte's NPR Station had to say about the statue:   "And industry. This is a woman mill worker. She has a spindle, roller, cotton warping, hydroelectric bolts and as you can see a child laborer. They're classical emblems of the textile industry, that was so important in Charlotte's growth. And what looks like braids hanging down the sides are warp ends, a textile reference."

North Tryon business district plans are in North End outside of uptown and should be discussed here:

North Tryon vision plan within uptown is actually First Ward village which has never gone anywhere due to Levine's landbanking, but still discussable here:
