From Tuesday afternoon, more glass going up on the YMCA and drilling, etc. on the main tower.

Preparation for the crane base is underway and the first section is on site!  New steel has been going up on the YMCA section.

Part of me is jumping for joy, but yet part of me says give it more time. We have been here before, at the edge of our seats pumped up about our new tallest only to have the damn carpet pulled out from under us! I know Tony G is solid but we don’t have Siggy gracing our skyline, and that was only a couple weeks to construction start.

Just one quick photo today as I walked by, it looks like they've finished off the rebar for the crane base so I would expect we'll see that filled with concrete very soon.

You are triggering my PTSD.  Don't forget the CGI hype reel they would show on the jumbotron before Predators games where the sabertooth tiger would climb to the top of Signature Tower and roar triumphantly!  Between that and the personal visit by Tony to the monthly meet-up where he described the inevitability of the tower's construction, I really believed we would have Nashville's answer to the Chrysler building.

Do we think they will use the existing crane to build the other instead of the huge portable they usually use?

I've visited Nashville twice this year.  Last time I was there multiple times in one year was probably 1992.  And I hope I get to visit again this year to take a photo of this baby finally rising from the ground.

Concrete has been poured!  It shouldn't be too long before we see a crane in place.
