This is from Riverside website one of their financial partners has been this company

actually upon more investigation the above named company is a partner on Queensbridge  http://wanxiangamericarealestate.com/ventures/    as the Wanxiang America webpage shows it.   And this company does invest in real estate development firms as well like Sterling Bay.

According to that website the office tower is now only 30 stories and 525k square feet, however they are still using the same renderings. Are they referring to 30 stories on top of the parking podium or has the scope of the office been significantly reduced?

On the Queensbridge Collective website, https://queensbridgecollective.com/, it refers to level 10 as being the outdoor amenity space on top of the podium. Therefore 30+10 would be back up to 40 stories.

Not to mention the renderings and plans suggest that the Residential Tower spans the complete 40-45 floors and sits alongside the parking podium, where as the office tower appears to be 30 floors of office on top of the 10 floors of podium parking.

That’s a good point. I would imagine that if they have a tenant though that they’d simply buy the rest of the cabaret’s lease. I can’t imagine that there’s much time left on the lease. I doubt that an entity that wants to develop an office tower would buy a site that’s encumbered by a long-term lease. I assume that Uptown Cabaret did not own the property. If they did, they’d be gone once they title transferred.

The Cabaret has no lease, they owned the entire property this project will be on (and made hella cash), my point was that its the smallest part of the property, the ROW still has to be abandoned and the site work on the side of the property the office tower will be on will lag behind the property the residential tower will be on.

I had assumed that the UC owned the site. I guess Riverside is letting them stay while it lines up all of its ducks to get this project moving.

Wasn't their building supposedly one of the oldest still standing in the city, too? Obviously it's been completely changed over the years but I think I heard somewhere the building itself was very, very old.

It's extremely funny that in this city specifically, known for both tearing down every old building and its Bible Belt moral history, one of our oldest buildings houses a strip club.

Maybe it has carried that bogus label as "Bible Belt city", but it has always been the "Wide open sex" city as well. It was one of the nation's well known gay cities in the 50s and since then has had strip bars, nude bars, houses of prostitution, porno shops and other sex related businesses. Just proves that religious people like sex too. The Bible Belt label has historically been a dig at the south. There has been just as many people that go to mass in the northeast as there are people that go to church in the south. It's just that at mass, you go in, do a prayer, pay the priest and voilà, you are out of there.  It is all BS.
