Those V columns seem to be load-bearing and span a considerable length…they must have been a…yk what to design. This is a another level of architecture and engineering design in terms of buildings for Charlotte! At least in a while.

Just noticed on the Riverside Development website they are advertising this tower as a 525,000 sq foot tower which is of course is smaller than they were first talking about.  But given the office market, this seems more reasonable and easier to get preleasing requirements.  Once touted as up to 750K to 800,000 sq ft  this reflects the current market conditions.  And remember any tower built here will take 3 years or so to complete.  Given the current absence of the start of any new office space, this could be well-timed.  Fast forward 3 years 600 South Tryon at Legacy and 110 East will probably be mostly leased and there is no new office space coming out of the ground with the exception of Commonwealth's 150,000 sq ft building.  There are only 3 office buildings under construction now in Charlotte counting 110 East foiur buildings if you count the office lab tower at the Pearl (but I think there is a different sort of building and looking for a different kind of tenant)

I walked the light rail bridge over 277 once and I do not recommend it. The ballast stones are fist sized and uneven AF and shift under my step. Not meant for a view and uncomfortable experience in every dimension. Constantly looking ahead and behind to check for rail activity plus the railroad bulls*

Up to 9, 36 more floors to go!  As I was walking by I heard someone say that they thought it was an office building like Vantage and her eyes got big when I said it was a 45-story apartment tower.  Many think this is a mid-rise and will be in shock later this year and it rises on up.    As for the missing OxBlue camera wonder if Spectrum had them remove it since now an office tower will rise basically competition for the tower they are marketing at Carson and Tryon by Crescent?
