So assuming Truist follows through on its rumored option to buy then this will no longer be the Hearst Tower right?  End of an era. I’m pouring one out just like I did for Ericsson stadium.

Because JPMorgan has a trademark  on “Interbank” in the U.S. and would’ve sued.

Couple of things about the new banks new home in Hearst.  I fully expect the new bank to buy the tower.  SunTrust owns its SunTrust plaza in downtown ATL and BB&T owns 2 suburban buildings in Charlotte, at least 2 in Raleigh, the old AMEX facility near Greensboro PTI airport so I expect them to take the option to buy.  

If Truist is leasing 561,000 and BofA occupies only 322,000 at Hearst and K L Gates maybe 50K some more tenants are being pushed out probably Hearst as speculated.  If Truist buys the building US Bank will be looking for their own space and naming rights elsewhere I am sure.

and if BoA is exiting BofA Plaza at the square wouldn't it be funny if US Bank takes that space and then US Bank has their own tower right away.  Anyone know how much space BofA has in the BofA Plaza maybe not enough for US Bank.

Let the tenant shuffle begin and I am willing to bet a Krispy Kreme doughnut for all that Truist will buy the formerly named Hearst Plaza now the Truist Plaza

Just following the musical chairs, US Bank is next and my guess is they go with the developer of the Spirit Square redevelopment by Cousins, which happens to own Hearst Tower. They anchor a new building no more than 400 feet, which allows for the Selwyn Strangler to continue his feed.

I would think you'd want a name that could be easily pronounced by non-English speakers. That name might be deceptively difficult for some:

"Troost."

"No, it's Truist."

"Tree-oost"?

"No. Troo-ist. But almost like one syllable."

"Treest"?

"No! TROO-ist."

"TROO East"?

"Whatever."
