  1. ZARA will bring some much needed foot traffic to that side of the mall. Always thought Old Navy was an odd choice for SouthPark, they only lasted 8 years.
  2. According to the mall’s Instagram the kiosk is temporary and their new store will be close to Nordstrom.
  3. Their construction door was open when I was at the mall last week and it looks like they’re almost ready to bring the inventory to the floor. Tommy Bahama’s Marlin Bar will open its first NC location in the former McCormick & Schmick’s at SouthPark. The retail store will also be relocating from within the mall to the same space.
  4. You’re right, I only included Hollister because it was in one of KJ’s pictures. There was a Hollister store at SouthPark a few years ago beside of the original Abercrombie store. The first attempt with Gilly Hicks before they went online only never made it to NC. Abercrombie seems to be pushing it more now so maybe a store will land in Charlotte eventually.
  5. Ralph Lauren is at Phillips Place.
  6. The only higher end stores that Charlotte has and Tampa does not is Alexander McQueen, American Girl, and Ralph Lauren. Tampa has several stores that have closed their Charlotte location including AX Exchange, Hollister, and Montblanc.
  7. If an expansion happens, it will be the redevelopment of an existing anchor store rather than adding a second level to the mall. The only area of the mall built to add another level is Neiman Marcus. I don’t think there is any examples of a mall anywhere in the country adding an entirely new level to the existing mall.
  8. Chanel is opening in the current BOSS location.
  9. This is great news for Carowinds. Six Flags is closing all of their corporate offices and Cedar Fair is finally making Charlotte the official HQ after years of quietly moving corporate positions from Ohio to the former Paramount office down the street from Carowinds.
  10. You can’t really blame Wells Fargo for wanting to add signage to the building. No one outside of these forums knows that Wells Fargo owns the building in the first place and will likely still refer to it as the Duke Tower for years to come.
  11. Mall vacancy is down from a year ago which is good news regardless.
  12. The permit spells it Channel and I didn’t realize it wasn’t spelled correctly until you pointed it out lol. Surely they meant Chanel.
  13. According to permit plans a True Food Kitchen and Channel are headed to the mall.
  14. B&M’s North American coasters, both track and supports, are built in an Ohio warehouse and then shipped to their respective parks.
  15. I don’t think it will take that long. Now that the park doesn’t have an off-season and operates year round, and this ride in particular is open through the entirety of the year including during the Halloween and Christmas events, I believe it will be re-opened before SCarowinds begins.
