How could the City even allow that in the center of the city???

According to RANYC it does not seem to be the case last time they saw.

I went by there yesterday as a part of my daily walk and the concrete is clearly for outside dining (or something else, but definitely not parking) . the slab of concrete is slightly elevated and there is space (dirt for now) between the concrete and the road.  Both lead me to believe that it can't be for parking.  I've been wrong before though, so we'll see.

Crane rising! Tbh, it’s going to be nice to see a crane on this side of town.  Hopefully this spurs more development in the surrounding lots. Pics from today:

There are two cranes at Legacy, unless they took the second down?

I think they took the 2nd one down but not for sure it was on the back side.

Hotel Starts & actual construction is very slow but steady in Uptown/Center City Charlotte  I guess.  By the time this one is done maybe the Intercontinental will be robustly going Vertical.

The Moxy will drive even more to the Midnight diner I do believe.  Today.  And I think this hotel and brand will do great there.

The footprint of this hotel always trips me out when I see it. It's just so small, and confined, but I suppose many high rise buildings are like this

Random thought after looking at the progress picture: If the transportation center were to be located elsewhere, and the other redevelopment plans don't proceed, how cool would repurposing the CTC building as a huge covered farm market be?

Yes i was just in New Orleans and they  had a covered market there with drink food / art etc.    not sure the name but I can definitely see similar concept at CTC. Could be a good focal point for uptown. Our own Charlotte market.  Maybe call it the “crown jewel “ or “hornets nest” ha
