Photos from today this JW Marriott hotel at Plant Riverside  is getting ready to open in November of this year.  This is a great project new construction blending with renovated old power plant all along the Savannah River. This project will include an extension of the riverwalk further towards the bridge.

Photos from today and this is looking great. 420+ room JW Marriott Hotel at Plant Riverside  Parking garage will be where the crane is located.  Preserving the main historical power plant and smokestacks and adjacent building is just great.   This project should win national awards.   the new western section of the Riverwalk will be great for the city as well.

This project looks fantastic!  The hotel is nearing completion some retail is already open along River Street.  Check out their site map of this huge project here.  I really want to stay here just to be a part of this project.  JW Marriott at Plant Riverside.    Parking garage and pool area is the first 2 photos where the crane is.  Southern Tide a retail shop has opened along River St at the other end of the project.

This is one of the best historic preservation and new construction mix in the country and I do mean that.   Photos today.

The JW Marriott at Plant Riverside is now open and I have been to hotels from Miami to Beverly Hills and this is perhaps the best hotel in the country.  It is a museum inside with hotel rooms and retail.  Absolutely stunning.  And it is not done yet there will be some convention and venue that LiveNation will run called the Atlantic under construction now.  Visited today and it is MUST see on any trip to Savannah or better yet stay there.  The rock and precious gem collection is museum worthy and the T Rex in the lobby is impressive.  The retail shops and restaurants along the river are beautiful.  The Starbucks on the river will be a hotspot and the rest of the restaurants.

I said this before but this is possibly the best hotel built in this country in the last decade anywhere.  Historical renovation of a power plant, new construction, art museum etc.  from this week.

Including some photos from their rooftop bar and entertainment area.  Even if you dont stay here go visit it is worth it.   there is a slide down to the activity deck at the rooftop or you can take the stairs LOL.

to see this old Georgia Power plant reborn as a hotel, retail and entertainment destination is just wonderful.  I still think this is one of the best looking hotels recently built anywhere in the USA>

the inside is a virtual museum with huge open atrium with rare rock and gemstones.  This hotel itself is a destination in Savannah as a tourist attraction.  There is nothing like it anywhere.
