Wouldn't it be funny if there was an historical figure in African American history named Jill and reference to a black Jill is akin to an Uncle Tom...   you know, also like a Karen or as Aussies say Nancy?

A children's poem by JFW657....

jacknjill.jpg

Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water

But because Jack being, a male, was physically superior to Jill, Jack got there first and got the water back down on his own.

He sold the water and made a nice profit, which caused Jill to get mad and claim that there needed to be more equality in the water fetching industry.

The woke equal rights and diversity obsessed segment of the public decided that it wasn't fair, so they demanded that a water well needed to be dug on a smaller and lower hill.

From then on, Jill used the smaller hill while Jack used the larger hill, but the quality and quantity of the water from the lower hill was inferior to the water from the higher hill so there wasn't as much demand for it.

In order to make sure that they both made the same money from their water fetching, they subsidized Jill's pay by taking some of Jack's, to which he responded by raising the price he charged for water fetching which in turn caused everyone to pay more for water.

But everyone was OK with paying more because Jill was happy and not beotching about it anymore.

The end.

Highly technical companies that are more about the product being better than the alternatives. Twitter is kind of useless regardless of who runs it.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe he set out to destroy the Twitter censorship apparatus at any cost, and doesn't really care, since he's said as much in interviews about it.  I mean, if you saw those interviews then you wouldn't be so giddy about what you refer to as his "fails" as they relate to Twitter.

Or maybe he's manic and makes impulsive decisions? Spending $60 billion on Twitter and then destroying it is not intelligent behavior, wether it was done deliberately or not.

in a perfect world I would agree, but...this isn't a perfect world...

as a disclaimer, I really don't care about Twitter or electric vehicles...

https://www.bankrate.com/investing/elon-musk/

$232B net worth in 2023.  I don't think he cares about any losses at Twitter.  He's not a businessman, but what he is...is the richest man in the world.  So he doesn't care.  What's $44B when you're worth eight times that much and continue increasing your value year after year?

He is a liberal who is against censorship...a far cry from most liberals around.

He also literally stated that he's taking the same approach that he's taken to his other businesses.... move fast and break things. You can move much faster (with innovation) if you don't worry so much about having a few problems along the way, and this isn't life critical stuff.

Elon Musk has been told this exact same thing with all his successes... in fact, when he was busy doing a lot less R&D per rocket and just blowing them up instead to figure out the Falcon 9 design, everyone was laughing at him and SpaceX saying "you can't just be blowing up these really, really expensive rockets to figure some things out, you have to spend a lot more time researching... move fast and break things doesn't apply to the rocket industry where everything is ultra expensive, that only works for software where things are dirt cheap" and, at the time, I bought into it.... but now we've come full circle, and now ya'll are declaring that "move fast and break things" only works on rockets and ultra expensive tings, not on the internet where things are dirt cheap??? WTF?

This man is clearly amongst the most intelligent alive today. He's literally revolutionized online banking, the rocket industry, high speed satellite internet, vehicles (both in terms of fuel/electric, and technology in cars). Hell, Elon has played a huge role in the entire solar industry as well, and you can't go very far in that industry without running into their batteries, because, again, he's so far ahead of the competition.

When you see someone this successful, creating so many innovations, over and over again, at what point do you take a step back, and think, maybe I'm wrong?

great post.  and, regarding Twitter, he's innovating as we speak in that he hosts The Tucker Carlson Show for the past couple of months, and that is a huge success.  I wouldn't be surprised if the Tucker show is a catalyst for more shows being hosted on that platform, regardless of political viewpoint (to the dismay of major networks).   Do I watch Tucker, no, much like Hansel admiring Sting in Zoolander from afar.  But I see the stats and its a moneymaker.

I think he's shown that he doesn't put up with petty partisan bullsh!t.  Much like Steve Jobs at Apple didn't put up with BS, Musk is intolerant of censorship which is why Leftists  don't like him; because that ilk wants the other side silenced at all costs, i.e., with false premise impeachment, post presidential indictments, political persecutions, election interference, canceling Twitter accounts, IRS investigations, you know, the typical stuff a Communist system would do. The fact that he's willing to gut Twitter at some personal expense sends a serious message that forces that ilk to reluctantly look in the mirror and recognize the sickness permeating their collective psyche.

Awesome. Taking a social media company that was near the bottom for users, and trying to innovate by turning it into a media company. Brilliant.

The real genius move would have been to strip it for parts and shut it down. Again, outside of Meta, most of these social media companies are worthless. But maybe the mad genius will figure out a way for normal people to engage with twitter instead of a super minority of users and to monetize it.

No, the left does NOT want "the other side silenced at all costs".  We want liars on the right held accountable for their non-stop cascade of blatantly false propaganda.

Sadly, all that above stuff you're defending as free speech, which the old Twitter supposedly had no moral right to "censor", is just that. Right-wing pro-Trump lies and propaganda. The political equivalent of yelling FIRE!!! in a crowded theater, which supporters of falsely claim are "just opposing views".  But it's not just opposing views or free speech. It's blatant, in your face lies, which Musk apparently supports.

Maybe Musk has plans to become the next Trump and wants to create an open pathway for his own future lies?

Sorry to say it, but your above post is just more of the same old right-wing Trumper cheerleading and demonization of those who tried to promote and protect the truth.

BTW, hosting Tucker Carlson is nothing to be proud of either.

yes...turning it into a media company...well stated.

on a related note...you know that talk about TikTok being "owned" by the CCP and taking surveillance on us and all that talk...well... a buddy of mine in I.T. reminded me that Google has been data mining for years.  Google owns YouTube.   And YouTube has been losing market share to TikTok over the recent years with all those major "channel" creators...so...Google got their lobbyists involved...to get rid of TikTok.   Competition... Fascinating dynamic there as well.  Hopefully the Govt doesn't fall for it.

Anyway, you're not a Leftist last I checked...  you're a moderate.

But your response denotes that the Dems are the truth tellers, yet we already know that the Russian Collusion was proven an inside job whether CNN wants to talk about that or not.  And we already know that Biden & Co. have received more than $20M under the table for favors...  So, what exactly are the lies, and by whom?

I mean, seriously, the Left is notorious for doing this: "Is he a Leftist?  No.  Ok, then he's a liar.  No?  Then he's a racist.  No?  Then he's an anti-semite.  No? Then he's a homophobe.  No? Then he's a sexist." This is Socialism 101.

Just look at what they did to RFK Jr.    Nora O'Donnell on CBS even referred to RFK Jr. has having "lied" about something like covid which had been proven true since, yet she still, two weeks ago, referred to it as a "lie." Total propaganda to shut him down.

Leftist media ignores facts and pushes their lies.  People hear the lie but never hear about the fact.  How can you support that?  Right now, millions still believe Putin put Trump in office.  Those same people supported giving $billions to Zelinski and Ukraine because it was politically incorrect to be an ally with Russia.  Why?  Because of false rhetoric from our former Sec of State and whatever other forces dictated so?

Here's another one:  The Duke Lacrosse team.  The media pushes the narrative of white rapists, but never tells you the end of the story, that they were exonerated.  Just like with Trump.  Why?  Because the media are a bunch of propagandists and Trump called them liars to their faces because that's what they are.  So they call Him a liar or a racist or a bigot or treasonous or whatever.

But, seriously, any Democrat loses the right to point fingers at Trump when the Bidens stink to high heaven and the Russian Collusion was proven to be a construct of Hillary & Co. pushed by the MSM and complicit lying Leftists in the US Govt.

Everybody that supports Trump saw what they did to RFK Jr.  Plain as day.  That is more damning than anything they tried against Trump.

And, BTW, what has Tucker Carlson ever LIED about?  What monologue has he ever made where what he said was not supported by facts?  Monologues are based on current events.  Does reporting on them make one a liar?  Or is he just a liar because he's not a leftist?

No, we do not "know" any of that.

Whatever portion of that ^^^ is not just a repetition of the very same misinformation and propaganda I was talking about, is at best, unproven allegations.

We all know what the right is up to.

Spread obvious falsehoods openly and shamelessly, then act all innocent and "Who, me???" about it when it's brought up.

"But... but... we're just innocent widdle Twumpy huggers twying to get our side of the story out just like you lefties!!!"

No, the left is not 100% honest about everything (Duke Lacrosse). Yes, they exaggerate and overstate the level of victimhood suffered by those special, protected groups who they enjoy mutual support with. But most of those people NAIVELY believe their misinformation while the right takes their INTENTIONAL misinformation to a much different level.

Russian collusion: Never proven false. The entire US intelligence community believed there was strong evidence to support it. The impeachment committee laid out the facts in a way that only a partisan fool would deny. The Republican Senate let him off Scot free without hearing one shred of evidence.

Biden $20 million in bribes: unproven allegations. Prove it or go home.

RFK COVID:  Any statement of denial about the seriousness of COVID or repetition of anti-vaxxer conspiracy nonsense, ARE lies. No different than climate deniers. I believe what legitimate, non-bought & paid for science says about both subjects.

Yes, Putin had a hand in putting Trump in office. Known fact.

Putin's Russia is murdering women and children in Ukraine and based on your above statements, your side supports it for the sake of pro-Trump politics. I hope that makes you all feel good about yourselves. Though I cannot imagine how it possibly could.

Biden "stink": No proof or even believable, non-concocted "evidence" exists that President Biden is involved in anything that involves any "stink" from his son's problems. Just more of that rwnj misinformation I spoke of.

Hillary & Co.: Hillary pushed nothing that the entire US intelligence community didn't strongly suspect. But you guys just go ahead and keep on wallowing in the right-wing pig slop. It's what your side does best.

Tucker Carlson: If you have to ask, you've drank way too much of the Kool Aid to ever recognize anything resembling the truth anyway.

As I said before, we all know what the right's little game is. Sit there acting all "Who, me???" innocent while the fake, crocodile tears flow like a river.

Nobody is buying it, my friend.
