I can’t find any documentation or images indicating that Nashville’s Union Station ever had a red tile roof, although my search was admittedly brief. Can they make such a change to a building with a historic designation?

I am not a fan of changing the color of the roof. It looks great to me now.

If the stonework was a lighter color say, sandstone, then a red tile roof could work.

I'm not sure about how this would look with grey stone.

I guess we'll see.

It may not be red but when I drove by the other day it looked like it was red to me. Could have been a base of some sort, but it is a slate roof. The above picture shows red as well.

 

It could be a tarp.

Some more details on the mixed-use project at 1300 Jefferson St. that was mentioned last week.  It will be 4 stories with 24 residential units and 2 retail slots facing Jefferson St. The developers, a trio made up of Bradley Development Group, Steve Armistead, and Meg Epstein, got approval on Sept. 15th from the MDHA Design Review Committee.  Renderings below.

The Ryman's outdoor stage on the NE side of the property (along 4th Ave. North) is finally going to get underway.  Will be known as PNV Plaza. However, the design has gone from brick to this spartan modernist look.

Didn't you know that is the new prototype for the WEGO bus shelters! You have to sing  plus pay in order to ride the bus.

Seeing this headline this morning got me so excited... how is this even a stage, or even newsworthy? I doubt anyone will even notice.

The Lofts at Marathon (6 stories, 463 units) is taking another step forward as developer Left Bank Holdings paying $4.63 million for the 2.7 acre empty lot site at 806 16th Ave. North. Metro Planning Commission still needs to approve the plan on which that Smith Gee Studio is working.  No renderings have been released yet, but there was a basic diagram made available in June (see below).

Additionally, the same folks have paid $2,83 million for the narrow lot at 804 14th Ave. North (currently at 1 story warehouse) which is caddy corner to the NE.  No word on their plans for that site, although another  residential development would be a logical conclusion.
