Crossroads Campus will be a mixed-use development including office space, 18 residential units, a café, a bakery, and a grooming salon at 1601 Buchanan St. on a .2 acre site. The current structure used to be Bud's Curb Market, and will be razed.  Crossroads bought the site for $1.5 million in January.

Lisa Stetar, executive director of The Crossroads Campus, said the nonprofit is working on elevations and exteriors for the building. She declined to offer additional details but noted they are forthcoming.

Lol... now someone is going to have to be paid to maintain that useless three foot piece of grass in front of each dwelling, or the residents will have to keep lawn care equipment on hand to tend to it.  Just pave over it for gods sake.  Geez louise.  It's like Nashville holds on to that grass strip because it feels like it's what keeps it  from becoming a full fledged urban environment and grounded to it's suburban sprawl roots.

The dogs will appreciate the grass! It’s their favorite place to send and receive “pee mail.” :tw_glasses:

I believe the curb strip requirement came out of a desire to increase neighborhood walkability and pedestrian safety.
Your point about lawn equipment is valid, but I think this little strip adds an enormous amount of curb appeal and makes for a much more pleasant walking experience than the same width of sidewalk without.

I was referring mostly to the grass between the sidewalk and the building.  Truthfully though I doubt the city has much control over that.
