5003 Gallatin Pike covers 3,570 sq. ft. over its single floor and was built in 1950. It is currently home to Exit Realty.

Love all your older hotels and office buildings converted to new uses like these on 4th.    This is something I wish my hometown would do more of and this facade saves look good too.

Those services are likely being provided occasionally even now, just not sanctioned by the proprietor of the establishment.

^^I know that's  right!
Even in more recent "centuries" ─ er, rather, decades and years ─ I knew of a tight-knit set of "Traveler's Rests" strewn throughout our community, and not just on the "wrong" side of the tracks either.  Not to suggest that I ever was a client, though ..

The African American Heritage Society of Williamson County announced plans to purchase and restore the historic (circa 1880) Merrill-Williams House on Natchez Street with the goal of turning it into a public learning center.

The home is one of the oldest landmarks in the Natchez community listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The society is aiming to raise the $1 million needed to purchase and restore the property to create a center for the study of African American history in Franklin and Middle Tennessee.

1520 16th Ave. South covers 6,000 sq. ft. over its 1 & 2 floors and was built in 1955.  It is now a series of 12 short term rentals.

The Ben West Library Building at 225 Polk St. was built in 1965.  It was recently renovated and a large portion of it (44,000 sq. ft.) is now home to Hastings Architecture.

1802-1804 21st Ave. South  covers 4,400 sq. ft. on their single floors and were built in 1915.  As you may recall, the north wall collapsed while the new building next door was being built.  The replacement wall and other improvements are now complete, and Fetch (a to-go extension of Fido/Bongo Java) is now open in 1804.

1929 Broadway covers 6416 sq. ft. over its single floor and was built in 1940. It is now home to the new Flatiron restaurant.

2600 12th Ave. South covers 13,164 sq. ft. over its single floor and was built in 1925. For several generations it was home to Becker's Bakery.  It currently houses Summer Classics & Home furniture store.

311 22nd Ave. North covers 5,500 sq. ft. over its 3 floors and was built in 1935. It is now fully renovated as office space.

807 Main, St. covers 6,000 sq. ft. over its 2 floors and was built in 1952. It currently houses Hot Yoga of East Nashville.

The former church at 2510 Gallatin Ave. covers 25,865 sq. ft. over its 2 floors and was built in 1955. The Gallatin boutique hotel features 26 rooms, an 11,250 sq. ft. event space, and a tap room.

Elliston Soda Shop had its grand re-opening on Tuesday at the new location (2105 Elliston Place). The 2 story, 9,516 sq. ft. structure was built in 1920 and provides nearly triple the space of the former location with was just to the west. Big kudos to Tony Giarratana for saving the business and investing heavily into its preservation.

1824 Jefferson St. covers 3,169 sq. ft. over its 2 floors and was built in 1899.  Later this month it will become Escape the Trap Nashville, a division of Atlanta's Trap Music Museum. Trap is a subgenre of hip hop music that originated in theSouthern U.S. in the 90s. 

“Escape the Trap” Escape Room is said to offer its guests a “unique blend of the escape room game experience, along with Trap music history and culture,” according to a news release.

Visitors will interact with a series of rooms highlighting trap culture along with live actors.

The 2nd Nashville location for Central BBQ opened last Tuesday at 1601 21st Ave. South (2 stories, 6,992 sq. ft., built in 1953).

Seems we have an earlier discussion on that building and if it’s the one, it was built around 1930 for a grocery store. IIRC one of our forumers actually posted some early newspaper ads. Hope I’m right or I’m losing my mind.

1204  Elmwood covers 5,000 sq. ft. over its single floor and was built in 1965.  It has just been updated into creative arts spaces.

922 Main St. covers 5,976 sq. ft. over its single floor and was built in 1957.  Major renovations have been completed after severe damage from the March, 2020 tornado.  No Quarter Pints & Pinball is one of the new tenants.

914 Woodland St. covers 6,268 sq. ft.. over 2 floors and was built in 1964.  It is now home to Element Salon.
