I’ve stayed in many large city hotels where you take an elevator to the lobby. Residence Inn Chicago (River North area) is one that comes to mind right away.

The Westin in NOLA is like that as well. I actually love it because the views from the large lobby windows are stunning.

I absolutely love how much light and color they added to the skyline. They made up for the relatively bland design with its night appearance.

It seems that every new downtown building has a giant monolithic space to house a large restaurant. You've got to think at some point when Nashville's high-end restaurant boom starts to peak (if it hasn't already) that many of these building will have to convert or subdivide these spaces to other uses, e.g. smaller eateries, shops, services, etc. I happen to think that's a good thing, assuming I'm right.

I agree to a certain extent as far as too many high end restaurants,  but hotel restaurants are an amenity and will not necessarily make money as it will be underwritten by the hotel.

At least it's been all been repaired, from what I've seen driving past. For a while there were several bulbs out, or really dim.

Opening Fall 2018

In late fall of 2018, the first floor of Cambria Nashville Downtown will be the home of esteemed restaurateur Kelly Black's newest venture: NashHouse. The progressive Southern Spoon and Saloon will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner in his signature gastropub style.

In addition to a large tap wall, giant whiskey selection, private dining, and great local entertainment, guests will enjoy refined takes on Southern staples like fried green tomatoes, deviled eggs, meatloaf, skillet steaks, mac and cheese, and (of course) great American whiskey.

And there will be brunch, too. Think seasonal, local benedicts, omelets, scrambles, barbecue hash skillets, and chicken fried chicken.

^^What an amazing looking space.  I love the red brick with black accents and dark windows.  If I had the money, I'd build a house to look like that.  Classic Nashville...with a new-age twist.

That Now Hiring sign gives me a chuckle...I'm in the hospitality business up here in Cincy and from what I was hearing from my old bosses back in Nashville the staffing situation is a nightmare down there.

Anyway, I'll check it out next time I'm home!

In what way? Just too much competition,  jobs don't pay enough?

Too many hotels and restaurants opening up around the same time leading to a labor shortage in Nashville's hospitality industry-good for workers though, helps push up wages.

I'm don't like to complain about stuff, I'm as pro-growth as it gets, but I work downtown and something is going on with this hotel's garage entry. Either it is poorly run or poorly designed.  Several times this week in the a.m. during rush hour they've had 8th Ave backed up by taking out an entire lane with cars  either trying to get into the garage or waiting to be valeted. Hope this is a temporary thing as kinks are worked out.
