Williamson County and Davidson County ranked #1 and #2, respectively, in state-wide unemployment figures:

http://www.bizjournals.com/nashville/morning_call/2016/03/williamson-davidson-boast-states-lowest-unemploy.html

1. Williamson - 3.2%

2. Davidson - 3.6%

3. Rutherford - 3.7%

4. Moore - 3.8%

5. Sumner - 3.9%

6. Wilson - 3.9%

7. Knox - 3.9%

8. Giles - 4.1%

9. Cheatham - 4.1%

10. Lincoln - 4.1%

6 of the top 10 are in the Nashville MSA, and 9 of the top 10 are in Middle Tennessee. The Moore/Lincoln/Giles cluster is interesting. Most rural/small town counties are hurting (all of the bottom 10 are rural counties)...but these are doing amazingly well...

Overall, the Nashville MSA has an unemployment rate of 3.7%, and 12 of 14 counties are below the state average.

Lincoln Co will probably grow in unemployment once Goodman closes up at the end of the year. There are rumors they may still operate a warehouse out there, but the manufacturing is all moving to Houston. I believe Goodman was the largest employer in the county.

Nashville's skyline on list of America's best.    Thrillist:

http://www.bizjournals.com/nashville/morning_call/2016/03/love-nashvilles-skyline-youre-not-the-only-one.html

12. Nashville

Though its most iconic building looks like a superfan’s rendition of Wayne Industries World Headquarters, Music City’s skyline is almost as impressive as the neon lights on Broadway. Nashville hasn’t gone super-tall with its office towers (the AT&T Building is only 33 floors), but the buildings it does have sit nicely along the Cumberland River and make it an impressive downtown without going overboard. Much like the city itself, the skyline is understated but recognizable. Even if Bob Dylan did write a whole album about it.

Oh My Gosh! How dare they!

I hope the crazies here don't do anything to those people.

I wonder who came up with this list. I will have to say a nut job, because there is no way you put  Seattle in front of Chicago and NY, even with Mt Rainier.

As a general rule, I despise these lists, especially the "best restaurants" and "best bars" lists.  I have a brother-in-law who has ZERO imagination... So he does everything on these lists.  He still could not tell you what makes a restaurant/bar an appealing place.  He even orders the menu items "recommended" by the articles, often without even reading the complete list of ingredients that go into a dish.  Mind you, I do appreciate restaurant/bar reviews... as they serve a purpose, especially for new establishments.  However, how would a Margot or a Southern Standard be ranked better or worse than a R&D or City House?  They're all good IMHO for different reasons and occasions.

What's more offensive is that they put Vegas at #3. It is a fake, immitation skyline that cheaply mimics architecture from around the world.  It belongs in a list of "best skylines" as much as the Magic Kingdom and Epcot do.

I had the same reaction.   Vegas??? really?   Manhattan # 9?    Even though it's a "best of" list, if you read the captions they did a pretty good job of giving back handed insults to most of the cities.   It's a silly list.
