United Record Pressing across from the venue to the south is scheduled for expansion as vinyl is making a huge comeback.  Perhaps they could be talked into some garage space as part of their design (doubtful).

467 Chestnut is currently planned at 6 stories with an internal garage.  Perhaps they could alter their plan for more underground parking.

There's a large empty lot on the SW corner of Chestnut and Hagan St. that could become a mixed use project with lots of garage space.  

Maybe the two large future developments along either side of Brown St. between Hagan and Martin  could have garage space added.

The proposed 2 level parking garage (just 189 spaces) planned for the NE corner of Humphreys and Brown St. could be greatly expanded with more levels, and some ground level retail (for Gods's sake!).

Anything beyond these suggestions gets to be further than 4 blocks from the new venue, and that cuts down on convenience for the concert goers.  Additionally, each of these suggestions to add onto outside projects might only yield another 200-400 spots apiece, at best. 

Without adequate public transportation options (*sigh*) to gets folks in and out, there has to be a solution that in inclusive of lots of parking spaces. Will be interesting to see how AJ Capital addresses this challenge.

Mark, this is a fair consideration - this is less parking than would be required if you expect most people to drive to the venue in 1s and 2s.

I think I fall on the other side of the issue, though: every project inside the downtown loop and inside the 440 loop that has too little parking will nudge public behavior away from cars and take Nashville toward a more balanced share of transportation.

This is a short block away from a top-5-ridership bus route (Nolensville Pike), there are a lot of places to walk & bike from around Wedgewood-Houston, and being this proximate to downtown, there will be a lot of patrons taking rideshare.

I agree with you....I just know that a lot of folks are not as progressive as we are on this forum and will be irritated greatly if they can't find anywhere to park their own vehicle.    : (

I think this could be an opportunity to not ruin a pretty awesome development with an over abundance of parking. 

But like @markhollin said, we are a bit more progressive when it comes to things like this.

CM Sledge is also pushing for less and less parking (at least according to his twitter feed). This is close enough to downtown where folks will be ride sharing in and out of the area for events, plus the parking would be a shared agreement with the office next door due to off peak times. 

Besides, if the soccer stadium can get away with it, so can this venue haha

Groundbreaking will be in the 4th quarter this year, with a completion set for mid-2024.

113 17th Ave.North (surface lot and 1 story modernist building on .43 acre at SE corner of 17th Ave. North and Hayes St.) has sold for $6.1 million ($337 per sq. ft.--a new recored for the neighborhood) to an LLC affiliated with Vastland Development Co.  This is the company that is supposed to build Avalon Midtown (25 stories), just 1/2 block to the west.  The plot in between at 1705 Hayes is scheduled for 24 story structure, but now might be up for sale according to a source.  Perhaps Vastland will end up buying that as well and controlling the whole block for something more significant than just Avalon Midtown.

Vanderbilt Univ. continues to buy up property along West End Ave. with the $3.8 million purchase of 2803 West End Ave. structure where Cumberland Transit resides with a long term lease.  The businesses on either side, Verizon and Three Brother Coffee are not part of this transaction.
