I agree with other's assessment that AA will build nothing other than his bank account. He seems to contribute nothing other than perceived value to the parcels he buys. Vampiric. Not a fan.

If they can keep the current stadium open while a new one is built, that would lend itself well for a partnership with the Soccer owners.

The developers have landed a loan to get started on the Moxy Hotel mixed-use project (6-8 stories, 130 rooms, 47 residential, restaurants, garage) on the surface lot at the SE corner of 20th Ave. South and Belcourt Ave.  This has been sitting empty for decades.  So excited that this is going through.    Ground-breaking should be very soon. Hillsboro Village is getting red-hot.

From today's Nashville Post:

Groundbreaking might loom on a mixed-use development, featuring Marriott's millennials-targeted Moxy hotel, in Hillsboro Village.

According to a Metro document, Nashville-based Pinnacle Bank has provided a $26.5 million loan to the development team, which is led by Atlanta-based Summit Management Corp. and has created Belcourt Partners to undertake the project.

Summit and its investors hope to open in early 2018 Moxy Nashville/Vanderbilt Hotel, which will rise six stories and be located on the southeast corner of the T-intersection of Belcourt and 20th avenues. The site is about equidistant from the campuses of Belmont and Vanderbilt universities, with the southern fringe of Music Row also located nearby. The parcel currently is used as a surface parking lot.

Designed by Nashville-based Manuel Zeitlin Architects and Bounds and Gillespie Architects of Memphis, the building will offer 130 Moxy hotel rooms, 47 rental residences, a 200-car garage and ground-floor retail fronting 20th Avenue South.

If operational today, the Moxy would be the only hotel in the general Hillsboro Village area.

Summit, officials for which could not be reached for comment, previously said the project will carry an overall price tag of about $37 million.

Unrelatedly, work is underway on a 161-room Moxy hotel structure with an address of 215 Broadway. A Kentucky-based entity is developing that project.

Appears more like a watered-down, cheap revival of stacked precast modules of Habitat '67 brutalism (Montreal) ─ that's what it looks like.  I'd take Habitat anytime over this.

^ ^ ^ Went to Expo '67 as a child with my Dad.  Decided to go to Montreal again a few summers ago, and went out to the big island that hosted that World's Fair.  Many of the key structures are still standing and in use, including these apartment blocks.  : )

This is a real shame.  Crittendon Building (1929) at 1815 Division Street is coming down. Initially will serve as a parking lot, but it would seem the developer has something more substantial in mind.

Such a prime location and its a shame to let it sit dormant and look run down. 

The Chancellor has stated publicly that the ultimate use will be for graduate student housing.  How quickly that will happen is unclear.  But I don't think it will just be used for parking.

A Music Row multi-parcel property with a Chet Atkins and Ray Stevens history recently hit the market for $14.5 million. Located at the southwest corner of the intersection of 17th Avenue South and Grand Avenue, the property is home, in part, to Ray Stevens Music Group. It sits catty-corner from the site on which apartment building to be called Millennium, and developed by Houston-based The Dinerstein Cos., is under construction.

The 1.26-acre six-parcel site has two owners, a trust associated with the late Atkins. Sheri C. Smith, a broker with Zeitlin and Co. Realtors, has the listing for the owners. “The site offers direct access to Vanderbilt and you don’t get that with any of the other east-west streets in Music Row,” Smith said. “It also is a large site for the area.”

Stevens is moving his operations to the River Road area off Charlotte Pike and plans a 700-seat live entertainment called CabaRay Nashville.
