  1. At one point, weren't they planning on building a 4 or 5 story office building on the parking lot by the tracks (the 11th House lot)? Seems like it was going to house M Street's offices and also be the new location of Whiskey Kitchen at street level. They should go back to that plan and then build the hotel on this newly acquired lot, as @FluffyP13 has heard.
  2. I have to think that GBT is going to develop some kind of mixed-use building here and the Chase branch will occupy the street level floor. Doesn't seem like it would make sense to buy this prime GH property only to build another stand-alone bank branch on it.
  3. I've been wondering about this one for months now. Hopefully it's still on track. And yes, this design is a nice improvement. Way better street presence and density now that they're able to but more of the surrounding parcels. I wonder if they're chasing a luxury flag or just going an independent route.
  4. The Post reported last year that the same family/development group acquired all of the pie-shaped land at the split so I'm sure something will happen there before too long. https://www.nashvillepost.com/business/development/article/20996823/midtown-site-near-split-sells-for-undisclosed-some
  5. That was the reasoning that the developers gave for eliminating the apartment tower. No apartment tower = uninterrupted skyline views for condo owners for a looooonnnnnggggg time.
  6. I've always believed that Hensler would be the saving grace for this whole thing. Eakin is crap, but I knew Hensler (with his deep-pocketed backers) would recognize the iconic potential of this location and build something really notable. Also, we always celebrate a height increase in a project and this one has now had TWO (!!) Originally it was 20, then 25 or 26, and now 32. That's just fantastic, and 32 stories at that location will be awesome!
  7. When he said there would be a grocery store, my thought was "They don't need a 'grocery store,' they need an urban Target!" I guess time will tell. Target does like placing most of their urban stores very close to college campuses, so this could definitely fit the bill.
  8. The same group is apparently helping develop this and the 806 Olympic project just off 8th. More renderings for both projects are here: https://promanas.com/portfolio/developments/
  9. So it's obviously GBT stuff you're talking about and one of the projects is going to be the Firestone spot on Broadway. I'm just very curious as to what the other is. Did they say if both projects would go public this year? One of the spots that I'm most anxious to hear something on is the triangle spot at the Broad/West End split. Same group owns the whole thing there now. That whole area will look CRAZY if that gets developed into something prominent on the heels of Broadwest.
  10. Any word on what's going on with the Element hotel here? WW reported that it should (finally) start in July buy it doesn't seem like that's happened. I know they're aggressively advertising the next office building in hopes of starting that soon. It seems like this is taking forever to build out, but maybe we've just been spoiled by other multi-site developments like Capitol View and Nashville Yards that seem move very quickly.
  11. I would love it but I don't see it happening either. I'm surprised MLB is even talking about expansion right now. They can barely fill up the stadiums in most mid-market cities as it is. I know it would never happen, but I actually think MLB ought to cut 2-4 teams out to improve the quality of the product on the field.
  12. I think this should answer your question. It's Northside McEwen. Just in the news recently as construction is beginning. https://www.nashvillepost.com/business/development/article/20859401/site-work-begins-on-120m-cool-springs-project
