Novel Nashville West (Seven 3 & 4 story buildings, 400 apts.) by Crescent Communities has landed a $57.3 million loan from Fifth Third Bank.  The 15 acre development at 7025 Charlotte Pike near the I-40 exit.

This could be a traffic nightmare at this intersection. I hope they use Hapwood Drive for most of the exits and entrances. I can't see Charlotte Pike can add an entrance at that odd intersection.

Wow! The 1970s called and they want their apartment complex back.  No apparent attempt to make it even appear like it was built in his century. So is this really a new project or a rehab?  The sat photo looks as though it's already there or been under construction long enough to show up.

They are actually taking images more often now. Lots of places dirt is showing being moved and many of those projects are still under construction.

If I’m not mistaken I think they’ve been working on this for close to a year, if not longer. This is just the style for areas like Bellevue and this part of West Meade: winding roads through the complex, surface parking near the buildings, perhaps some trails, etc through the complex. It’s appealing if you want the features that come with apartment living without feeling like you’re in too urban of an area. That being said, it’s totally got the 1970s, Lakes-of-Bellevue feel and look to it.

The former Charles Bass Correctional Complex in West Nashville will be remade into an underground quarry, if plans are approved.

The proposed plans were shared with community residents Thursday night. Rogers Group Inc. wants to relocate its longstanding Reostone quarry away from the residential community it currently abuts along Robertson Avenue near Rock Harbor Marina.

The former prison, at 7177 Cockrill Bend Boulevard, is about a half-mile north of the quarry in an industrial area near the Cumberland River. Rogers bought it for $12.1 million last year.

"This is probably one of the biggest win-wins I've ever gotten the chance to stand in front of folks and talk about," said Brian Ledford, regional vice president at Rogers Group. "When we move all these things farther away, there's going to be a reduction in noise and dust."

Things are getting closer for Metro to sell the 4.4 acre site at 3800 Charlotte Ave. that houses the salt barn (for snow removal) and several other nondescript structures.

They are already working on the old Restoration space, Starbucks, New Balance and Brooks Brothers.  With Zara news it looks like the rendering link earlier in this thread might be a good hint at the new stores and restaurants

I saw that a permit has been pulled for North Italia

It seems that the rendering showing store names may be pretty accurate

Recent sessions of the Charlotte Pike Community Planning Study have distilled seven distinct character areas with development goals:

• Western gateway: Mid-rise (four to six stories), mixed-use buildings to anchor the Charlotte and White Bridge intersection and create an entrance to the corridor from the west.

• Floodplains: Mid-rise (four stories) mixed-use buildings focused on reclaiming the Richland Creek floodplain, prioritizing open space over greater intensity. Developers working on reclaimed floodplain would be cleared to build up to six stories.

• Interstate-facing: Mid-rise (four stories), mixed-use buildings to address Alabama Avenue, serving as the face of the corridor as seen from the interstate. Such built fabric would bridge the gap between the interstate and the adjacent old-school character of the corridor.

• Historic: Low-rise (three stories) buildings in the corridor’s “historic heart,” focused on adaptive reuse and redevelopment. Intended to preserve and enhance a “Main Street” character, of sorts.

• Industrial homage: Mid-rise (three stories) mixed-use buildings to cultivate a walkable center for the corridor. Intended to preserve some of the area’s industrial roots through adaptive reuse of historic buildings. Developers renovating older structures could be cleared for up to four stories.

• Interstate buffer: Mid-rise (four stories) mixed-use buildings to provide a buffer between Interstate 40 and lower-intensity areas. Developments with dedicated public, open space could have buildings rising to six stories.

• Downtown entrance: Low-rise (three stories) mixed-use buildings intended to create a transition between the corridor area and Midtown/downtown Nashville.

This! I am so in support of this. Charlotte Pike has so much character, but has been in dire need of a major facelift for a long time.

The large tract for sale in the Nations across Centennial Blvd. to the south of Stocking 51 has just gotten a bit larger.  Generally referred to as 1300 51st AVe. North, it now encompasses 3.44 acres.  The sum being asked is undisclosed.

“Numerous new development plans have emerged in the area within the last six months, and this opportunity remains at the center of it all,” ays Trent Yates of Sagemont Real Estate. “Also, we are now entertaining offers on individual parcels as well as the entire site.”  The properties are zoned "commercial service" which allows strong flexibility for redevelopment.
