Finally! Can't wait for the ugly, empty, fenced-off pavement to be replaced with ground level retail (though this would be the perfect location for a neighborhood grocery store). Also excited to have a sidewalk on that side of Centennial/51st now that they've added proper crossings at that intersection.

The Memorial Foundation is building its new home (1 story, 5,000 sq. ft.) at 808 Skyline Ridge Drive, next to Skyline Medical Center. They will move into their new home from Madison in the fall of 2024.

The foundation has named R.C. Mathews the general contractor and Hastings Architecture the designer.

The work of The Memorial Foundation began through the creation of an endowment fund generated from the sale of Nashville Memorial Hospital in Madison in 1994. Since that time, the foundation has grown the endowment and awarded more than $189 million in grants to area nonprofits.

a grocery store would be great! however, I'm not holding my breath lol

I don't think there will be more grocery-type retail coming to the Nations between the Turnip Truck, the Dollar General, the Charlotte Kroger, and that new proposed Publix on Charlotte. With the Publix that would be 3 full-service stores within ~ a mile.

 

edit: Well that's probably understating the distance to the Kroger and proposed Publix, but still, probably under 2 miles.

Alta Lofts on the Levee (5 stories, 325 units, internal garage) is being built on 5 acres at 210 Cumberland Bend Rd. by Wood Partners. They just paid an undisclosed sum to Dore Frog LLC, who had bought it previously in 2020 for $7.1 million. Dynamik Design is the architect; Wood Partners will also serve as the contractor.
