I just read this! I got all excited when I first read tower, only to find out that i will be 4 stories! , but I'm not complaining, just look at what Hubbell is doing and it's 4 stories!

I thought this was cool: driving down Laurens Rd at about Big O Dodge (I think, maybe before)- you can see the constuction of the Hubbell Lighting headquarters rising above the tree line! I'll try to get a picture...

Plus keep in mind that the Hubbell building will be five stories in one section, making it taller than the current height. :shades:

Not noticable from the interstate, so some of you might not have noticed with out driving through ICAR, but another building has a started in the cluster containing BMW. And site work is underway for a thrid right beside BMW, looks like Iron for that would should be going up soon.

This is exciting! Now all we need is for SCDOT to fix the Laurens Rd-I85 interchange before all of these places open and all hell breaks loose at rush hour. :P

Some nice fly-over ramps would be good - something to allow you to get a view of the whole complex as well as maybe downtown.

Edit: Not that I ever take my eyes off of the road in front of me...

I generally dislike the architechture that they will be using at ICAR. Not just this group, but all of it. I don't think it will age very well. Its too 'modern' for my tastes.

I compare the architecture to the contemporary European designs I've seen. In that view, I can justify liking these, even though the new "modern-style" highrises with flat roofs to be built in the Millennium Campus may be a tremendous disapointment. I just hope Verdae develops a few with more pleasing features. In any case, ALL of this will be a great thing for Greenville! :D
