  1. A couple invested a chunk of money with a major financial backer of Camperdown. Although Camperdown has come together, there have been financial issues along the way, possibly due to Covid, construction costs and delays after. So the couple is suing the finance guy over the investment's result. There is much more detail in the story. The outcome will depend on the statement of objectives the couple gave, and the disclosures the finance guy made up front.
  2. Investors claim Ponzi scheme used to rescue Greenville's Camperdown from mounting debts This is early in the case and there are 2 sides to this story. I would summarize it as there's a strong smell of a questionable fiduciary nature, but not necessarily a classic 'P-word'.
  3. Does this tiered road list count? https://www.foxcarolina.com/2024/04/23/greenville-co-penny-tax-commission-releases-list-potential-road-projects/
  4. I was barely aware of these new signs until I was taking some out of town visitors around Greenville and one of them asked about Aryana as our food choice. I was surprised that he knew about this restaurant on a side street but he pointed to the info sign.
  5. I've been there to eat several times - it's great and hope it continues to build places people want to spent time in. It's not bad now and has lots of potential.
  6. https://www.greenvillesc.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=3499 It's great to see that the game parking issue has been considered and it looks like a decent solution to help families get to and from the game. They don't state specifically, but it appears that the new county parking garage was never an option for off-hours parking? Does any know why?
  7. This is a likely explanation - a county employee posted that they were still working in the corner building as demolition began. They had to complete the move out and pre-demolition before the rest can be taken down.
  8. Recalling the Certus fiasco at 1 N Main St, hopefully that means UCB will be a stable local community office.
  9. Are you saying that the entries such as "US 25 Hwy 25N 4.670 miles $320,618 92% complete" is not specific enough because it doesn't have GPS coordinates?
  10. Thanks - some great views on what's going on there!
  11. BridgeWay Station in Mauldin adding SC’s largest food hall City Market is coming.
  12. Legacy connector is open today.
  13. The ICAR connection status is a mystery. The Verdae Blvd bridge construction will be a complication - they may need to reroute part of the trail during construction. I have seen some survey markers wandering through the trees in that area but have no idea what they're for. Seemingly they could open a surface crossing in the meantime using the traffic light if they wanted to. It is a bit concerning that there's been no public discussion at all - hopefully it won't become a 'Gateway' project.
  14. From Greenville city - https://fb.watch/pKQs2o1U68/ Not sure if it's open yet, or if the engineer has completed the final inspection. Official ribbon cutting is in early February.

    Proterra

The facility and employment will stay under the new company, per a story from the Post & Courier "Following the acquisition from Phoenix Motorcars, Proterra’s Greenville office and manufacturing facility are poised to stay open — a move that will prevent 290 layoffs. "
  16. New Union House residential area near N Main and Rutherford dispute - Communal housing dispute appealed to Greenville zoning board
  17. Reports from other Waze users shows that the detour instruction were issued too late - the escape exit had been reconfigured so that it was already passed when Waze tried to exit.
  18. You're right - it was a typo that should have been end of 2023.
  19. From city council discussion - 9/11/2023 I missed the beginning, but here are some points - Legacy park connector: still in progress, target end 2024 3 additional neighborhood connectors along Laurens Rd 2023-2024 Church St underpass improvement study (visibility, lighting) - 2023 Cleveland Park pedestrian bridge - direct connection from Richland way tunnel to zoo parking lot (2024) Cancer Survivor Park full tread surface replacement - ongoing surface maintenance, aim for better surface lifetime and skid resistance. The county 'owns' / operates the trail segment below the Laurens St bridge. I'm surprised by that, but I don't know exactly what that means; perhaps maintenance? It seems to be patrolled by city officers now. They talked about the long term goals of the trail network in the city. I was struck by how much things have changed since the early days when it seemed that only the hardcore trail users saw the potential to the way it is viewed by most people now.
  20. Deleted - wrong thread
  21. The bridge and trail to Mauldin High is now open. Map overview
  22. The entire left side of that parking lot would normally fill up on game night, and at least half of that section is marked as closed. So some will need to overflow into other locations. Hopefully they'll still run the trolleys to the garage.
  23. The new parking garage holds 1050; I don't know how that compares to the old lot
