  1. !. Buy Japanese capacitor company. 2. Move all R&D into the Japanese branch. 3. Lay off US R&D. 4. Move manufacturing to China. Lay off US manufacturing. 5. Profit. They're somewhere in step 4.
  2. It seems that the ultra-handy parking lot behind the Suntrust building that was free on nights and weekends has now gone private. The "Free parking on nights and weekends" signs were removed and replaced with "Customers only...others will be towed" signs. I don't mind walking, I just hate to drive around endlessly looking for a spot.
  3. I'm not sure about the "no left turn" idea - while it would definitely improve traffic flow, that's not why many people take Main Street. Many can't walk comfortably over a short distance, and just want to people watch from inside their car - a mini form of cruising.
  4. I'm still amazed that there is not some sort of trail connecting to Verdae Market or the Books-A-Million shopping center.
  5. I would like to have seen that job posting: "Stage fights in selected locations near downtown city streets":
  6. There's also the Brandon Mill - I'm not sure about the Judson Mill.
  7. I could easily see the case for an impulse sunglasses purchase in downtown Greenville. But apparently it didn't happen often enough.
  8. The project one logo on the Washington street side:
  9. I love the statement: . There are few cases where that is so true with no shades of gray.
  10. 6.50 for a base burger with the typical toppings (PLTO), then add-on $ for gourmet toppings. They have a variety of other types of meats in a burger format, and preselected burger topping style packages. Fries are separate, which makes me happy; I always prefer a substitution anyway. They have excellent presentation, and it really is a fine gourmet burger.
  11. The gourmet burger I had tasted great - I like the choice of toppings they have. A very interesting combination of dining area / Bar / Patio layout.
  12. I took the photos very hastily, but now I see 'piano keys' extending from the sidewalk across the street.
  13. Based on the brick pavers I see staged, I'm guessing that they're adding a 'brickyard road' to both ends.
  14. What are they building on Laurens Road across from the ICAR campus?
  15. It looked like some of them were pole replacements. I only got a glance however.
  16. Oops - I should have checked my memory; One of the stops is the http://www.candleton-apts.com/ Candleton Village Apartments on Woodruff Rd near the Beck Academy.
  17. Possibly not - it doesn't transport people between ICAR and the Candlewood Apts. But if the free shuttle utilization numbers were too low, there would be no reason to continue it.
  18. I think I have see the proposed name Cafe Outre also. Red Fin seems final - there is a prototype web site: http://redfinonmain.com/

I don't have any inside info on funding, but if they continue to meet their design goals, customers will be beating down their doors for the product, if they aren't already. Unlike the Chevy Volt, which is optimal for only a select audience, for those cities who can afford to start adding the new buses, payback is quick, as well as less downtime because of better maintenance, and quiet operation.
