<p>Kudos to Clemson!!! Undefeated after 5 games. Taken down a top 20 team each of the last 3 weeks. The 23 to 3 win over #11 Virginia Tech tonight was simply sweet! <img alt=":alc:" class="bbc_emoticon" src="http://1-www-accel-pss.googleusercontent.com/gadgets/proxy?container=accel&amp;gadget=www.urbanplanet.org&amp;debug=0&amp;nocache=0&amp;v=53qbk82iqdvcfseo2t3sh90qqc&amp;rooe=1&amp;html_tag_context=img&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.urbanplanet.org%2Fforums%2Fpublic%2Fstyle_emoticons%2Fdefault%2Falc.gif" /> <img alt=":alc:" class="bbc_emoticon" src="http://1-www-accel-pss.googleusercontent.com/gadgets/proxy?container=accel&amp;gadget=www.urbanplanet.org&amp;debug=0&amp;nocache=0&amp;v=53qbk82iqdvcfseo2t3sh90qqc&amp;rooe=1&amp;html_tag_context=img&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.urbanplanet.org%2Fforums%2Fpublic%2Fstyle_emoticons%2Fdefault%2Falc.gif" /> <img alt=":alc:" class="bbc_emoticon" src="http://1-www-accel-pss.googleusercontent.com/gadgets/proxy?container=accel&amp;gadget=www.urbanplanet.org&amp;debug=0&amp;nocache=0&amp;v=53qbk82iqdvcfseo2t3sh90qqc&amp;rooe=1&amp;html_tag_context=img&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.urbanplanet.org%2Fforums%2Fpublic%2Fstyle_emoticons%2Fdefault%2Falc.gif" /></p>

quote name='GvilleSC' That's nice coming from a 'Bama fan!

It is just pleasant watching Clemson this year. Sort of a Cinderella story.....this team started the season unranked.....a young team......nobody expected much......then, after winning their first two games, they beat the reigning national champs, Auburn, by 14 points (and they looked like a talented team while doing it).....then nobody thought they would beat number 14 FSU, but they did........then everyone was sure they would fall to number 11 VT, but they didn't......AND held VT to only a field goal, in VT's home stadium!

Now number 8.

The media has picked up on the "Cinderella story" and it is getting good national play.

And then Dabo....you can't help but like the guy.....his emotions after the games are just raw truth coming from within.....he's a "good guy".....rare to find those types of coaches in this day and age.

Clemson looked good against a highly overrated Auburn team, and against a FSU quad that was missing it's starting QB. In my mind it was a lot of hype until y'all beat Virginia Tech on the road. As long as y'all can avoid the late-season loss against the random crappy team, the ACC championship and an Orange Bowl berth are not out of the question.

More importantly to me, Clemson and Carolina could be a match up of two top 10 teams this year if both keep winning. I think that would be a first for the rivalry.

Well, apparently the dozen strikes and you're out policy at the University of South Carolina's athletic department has reached its limit with Stephen Garcia. Well, technically he was suspended 5 times from the team. The question is: why now? I hope this doesn't hurt the team, because those hopes of a good ranked match up on Thanksgiving weekend could be dashed.

If they UK game was any indication, that shouldn't be a problem :shades: . Carolina has a favorable schedule down the stretch, with all of our remaining opponents looking beatable if they play as well as they are capable. We'll have to see how Connor Shaw does against better competition before we can truly make that call. Many Gamecocks would be quick to point out that Chris Smelley had a phenomenal first game a few years ago only to under perform through his career. Shaw seems to be more of Spurrier's type of QB, so I'm hopeful that he will evolve into what the NFL calls a "franchise player." As I said, a lot remains to be seen, but I'm hopeful.

After the Navy game I was of the opinion that winning out was going to happen with Garcia. It's a shame he chose to not abide by his reinstatement contract. I'm sure there's more to his story that will come out over time. It's definitely been a rough couple of weeks for Stephen. I know that the Gamecock Nation wishes him the best.

^It's Holtz's own fault for recruiting a bunch of juco thugs.

In other news, we could be looking at the biggest Clemson-Carolina match-up since 1987, when Carolina was #12 and Clemson was #8. This time, Clemson is sitting at #7 and assuming they win at NC State, and #12 Carolina wins over the Citadel there is a possibility that both teams could be in the top 10. This game will almost certainly bring a lot of national attention to our rivalry, and to the state of South Carolina as a whole.

It was smart and skillful of the Tigers to take advantage of a team that left their defense and discipline at home, or is Clemson's division just that much better than VT's?. Maybe they just have VT's number. At any rate, congratulations are in order. Congratulations on winning the ACC Championship, Tiger fans.

No, Clemson just out played Virginia Tech. I think they just wanted it more. They've come close so many times in the past 10 years, and this time they had the ability to do it. IMO, both divisions are pretty even in the ACC. There is way more parity there than in the SEC right now.
