The Residence Inn on .82 acre at 206 North First St. on the East Bank that had previously been announced at 11 stories/175 rooms, has now been expanded in scope to 15 stories/181’, 235 rooms, 8,000 sq. ft. retail, and 245 capacity internal garage.  Revpar Development and Emerge Hospitality Group are co-developing.  Elevate is the architect.  Kimley-Horn and Assoc. is in charge of Civil Engineering.  The team will now seek a specific plan rezoning from the Metro Planning Commission on July 27th.

Not bad, but not great? I've got the Gulch as my baseline for any development on the East Bank, and this feels a little more like Midtown, with the pedestal and lack of mixed-use.

This one at least has a few retail slots. Given that this is an absolute no-man’s land now, I’m happy with it. It will be buried soon enough.

EDIT:  So full disclosure I've had a few beers and I mixed up Courtyard Inn with Residence Inn... but still, you get the point!

I think this project would be on the corner of the new road. If it is done correctly, then this project should be fine. The new road would be on the south side only of this building according to the plan I remember seeing and then the road would dogleg around the back side of the block. Everything is subject to change though.

The plan has been approved by Metro Planning Commission, as well as passing first phase with Metro Council.  The rezoning needs to go before the Council 2 more times for final approval.

Batumi ain't playing around... Nashville's East Bank developers might want to pay a visit...

Glad to see the developers moving ahead.  Guess they see that new stadium is happening and they're wanting to be well in-place to ride the wave!
