Oops - Gators’ QB depth takes a hit after losing backup Jack Miller to thumb surgery

From The Sentinel

Meanwhile, it looks like Da Cows may be sending us another QB to the Bounce House. Of course, had it not been for Jabba the Heup, he should have been here in the first place. Only problem now is the QB room’s full at the moment. Stay tuned…

Bianchi comments on Coach Billy’s obsession with staffing:

“Short stuff: The new Florida Gators team photo caused quite a stir among social media critics who were blasting the Gators for having more staff members in the photo (140) than players (116). I’m not saying that new coach Billy Napier’s staff is bloated with unnecessary personnel, but do the grad assistants really need grad assistants? My operatives within the program tell me that Napier not only has a coffee coordinator, he has separate cream and sugar coordinators as well! But, ahem, the schools can’t afford to pay the players and instead are begging the boosters to foot the bill for NIL compensation. …”

Half-a** U has decided that the decades-long complaints about their facilities might be worth looking into. Not to mention they’re always looking to keep up with the Gators:

FSU hopes new football facility will help Seminoles keep pace

What in heaven’s name happened to college football in Florida? | Commentary

From Bianchi at The Sentinel

Fun Fact #1: “In all, the state of Florida won 11 (more than one-third) of the national championships in the 30 years from 1983-2013 but hasn’t won one since FSU’s last championship season nearly a decade ago.”(except, of course, UCF’s 2017 National Championship- yep, it’s noted in the NCAA record book).

Fun Fact #2: “…UCF was the first program in the state to build an indoor practice facility — a full decade ahead of the Gators, Seminoles and ‘Canes?” (Charge On!)

now if they expand that stat to include the SEC and other southern schools like Clemson,  you can add 1992, 1998, 2003, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021.  And if they include 1981, 1980, 1979, 1978, that's four more to two more for non-southern (and a split in '78 or'79 with SoCal).

If you expand to include the Colley Matrix in 2017, then include NYT in 1984 and 1985 for UF

Florida vs Utah on Saturday.

Utah is preseason Top 5 or Top 7.  Well, a lot of questions with be answered after Saturday's game for both squads.

It should be a great game. Not sure what Billy’s coffee coordinators will do to stay busy - Mormons aren’t big coffee drinkers ;-)

Marc Daniels…”Vandy is the best the team in the SEC this week after their 63-10 win at Hawai'i. No one else in the conference played in Week 0 but that is not Vandy's fault.”

HOW ‘BOUT THEM ‘DORES?

I guess FSU is on top of the ACC this week then after beating Duquesne 47-not so much. :D This weekend in New Orleans will be way more interesting.

Forbes list of top schools came out and UF ranked #26- top 6 for public schools (4 of the top 6 public schools are UC schools).

FSU #67, USF #118, UCF #119, FIT #120.

I’m not a big fan of rankings by outfits like Forbes and USNews. Nevertheless, there’s no doubt UF is the state’s flagship institution (unless DeSatan keeps messing with it). What’s really fun is Duh Cows keep insisting they’re going to be invited to join the AAU any day now and that makes them a shoo-in for the B1G. Meanwhile, here they are ranked one spot above us. The complete lack of ties to reality of the crew in Temple Terrace (not to mention their confusion when it comes to geography) are stunning.

Meanwhile, Tebow is part of a group bringing pro soccer (USL) to Jax:

this would be the time for FSU to make a statement if LSU isn't yet ready for the season...

There were huge wins for the Gators and ‘Noles last weekend along with expected wins for Da U and our Knights.

Of course, Duh Cows lost to BYU.

All in all, so far it looks like, for now at least, the State of Florida Football is  undergoing a return to the powerhouse era.

Charge On!

The FSU game was such a roller coaster for both sides. Definitely a nail biter to the end!

The Florida game was exciting to the end as well. Great weekend!
