Actually, running his mouth on a national level has effectively reduced any chance he has at being taken seriously. I say encourage it.

A lot of people, myself included, thought that about Trump in the months leading up to November 2016.

That taught me to never underestimate the stupidity or overestimate the intelligence and judgement of highly partisan, extremist nutjobs. And I think that goes for both sides.

This is soooo funny!!!!

I bet Little Mussolini is hopping mad and sputtering with rage!!!

Florida Republicans Demand Ron DeSantis End 2024 Run To Focus on His Job...

Gov. Ron DeSantis has been urged by a group of Florida Republicans to end his 2024 primary campaign so he can concentrate on his role as governor.

The Florida Republican Assembly, a grassroots political organization, issued a declaration calling for DeSantis to return to the role he was reelected to in November 2022 and to "complete his four-year term" as Florida governor.

The declaration, confirmed by the group on social media, suggested that DeSantis' presidential campaign has "caused a distraction" and that the interests of Florida's residents have been "placed secondary" to his White House bid.

The group also said that DeSantis' 2024 campaign is not generating any positive poll results, nor has it gained any "significant momentum" since it officially launched in May.

For months, DeSantis was seen as the ideal replacement for former President Donald Trump to lead the Republican Party into the next election, with several people, including some within the GOP, blaming the influence of the former president on the party's poor 2022 midterm performance.

However, DeSantis continues to trail Trump by massive margins in the polls, with his floundering campaign dogged by a series of controversies, concerns about his ability to charm voters, and a lack of funds heading into the primaries.

"Gov. Ron DeSantis has been using his position as governor to campaign for the office of the president of the United States, taking him away from his official duties and responsibilities to the citizens of Florida, frequently at taxpayer expense," the declaration said.

"Furthermore, the Florida Republican Assembly requests that Gov. DeSantis rededicate himself to the needs of Florida residents and prioritize their interests over his personal political ambitions," the group said.

Although I agree with them about DeShameless quitting the race, I do not agree with the part about him coming back to Florida and continuing his term.

He should drop out of the 2024 race, resign from his current position, pack up his crap and go somewhere else.

Mississippi, Alabama, Texas.... someplace more suited to his kind.

JAX seems to fit the bill fine as it’s where his shamelessness was conceived anyway.

Dont wish him on Mississippi, especially when they are less extreme than Florida right now.

Yet, Trump cannot get his down ballot nominees voted in and DeSatan has the charisma of a crying baby in a library.

That's not at all what that "proof" article you sent me said.

I know that, but everyone reads responses on UP and chimes in even if it's not aimed at them per se.

it's all well and good.  I'm just pointing out that we have an administration mandating chin diapers and empowering a social credit score system, wanting its constituents to focus on one type of cause of death (gun violence), which pales in comparison to a cause of death (fatal reactions to covid vaccines) that they are responsible for pushing and shaming people into.  Also, society's evolution is fluid, always evolving.  It doesn't hit a point where people wake up one morning and say: "Oh, great, we no longer need to worry about oppressive regimes, therefore, we should turn in our arms... because our leaders told us so."  But the Framers knew, that after the Brits tried to confiscate arms from The Colonies, and after The Colonies rebelled because of  taxation etc., they knew, that The People needed to maintain arms in case a subsequent oppressive situation arose in the future that needed to be dealt with.  Just because Representatives are on TV acting like they are doing something in DC means nothing; it's just lip service eye candy, while we struggle with inflation and (fill in the blank_____________) among other things.  Just because it's now considered par for the course doesn't make it right.  That's all.

And I should clarify, that while its easy to point fingers at the current administration, it's really an administrative state comprising both parties that calls the shots.  The GOP could have told Trump to dump Fauci but they didn't back in 2020 when reports coming out of Europe were that the vaccine was attacking the placenta in many cases which resulted in litigation within the EU between administrative departments. It's irrelevant that it was tied to one manufacturer; it was the nature of it.

I'm surprised feminists just let this one go and just went along with the social shaming mask-holes narrative.

So, it looks like they had to respond by Oct 18th. Curious if they remove the stay if no adequate response.

Well, the formally restarted online sports betting and they plan to open the in person betting and Craps/Roulette in December. Looks like the chips, so to speak, fell in their direction. Now the question is what about the 4 other casinos that they were permitted to have and lease to other entities (ie MGM, Caeser's) along 441? Also, what happens to the deal with the Fountainbleu in Miami Beach  with the pathway to a casino? That was all tucked into the Indian Compact.

Just an update....... the NO casino crowd just filled asking for the Florida Supreme court to give an emergency injunction against the Seminole Tribe.

Florida Supreme Court unanimously declined the emergency injunction. Roulette and craps set for Hard Rock Casinos in a few weeks and sports betting full speed ahead.

Still curious where the whole Indian compact lands. If it is fully accepted by the courts, Seminoles are allowed to open quite a few more casinos on their land next door. I believe I read 2 to 4 more and lease operations of them to other entities such as MGM, Caesars etc. Also was the hidden clause of transferability of casino licenses off reservations, specially Fountainbleu in Miami Beach.

I was kinda against this law.

I mean, a parent can't really control whether a teacher tries to groom their kid outside of his or her presence.  But a parent has direct control of where he or she takes their kid, therefore, any "bad" influences on the kid is on them.  Don't go after liquor licenses like Buddy did in limiting the number of hours in the day they are good for (for downtown bars).

The right overuses and misuses the word "groom" way too often. Groom in that context refers to illicit sexual intent, which though it does happen in public, charter and private schools occasionally, is nowhere near typical.

A better, more accurate word might be indoctrinate

What IS typical, is the right's constant, never ending attempts to demonize and engage in character assassination of the left by any means possible. Talking about teachers "grooming" children, unfairly implies that most of them are sexual predators and perverts looking to prey on children sexually.

Which we all know is the real intent, don't we?

No big surprise though, since the right has for a long time now, hated public education. The reasons? Because it not only attempts to teach kids independent thinking, which is antithetical to the prejudices and paranoia they want kids' minds to be imbued with, but also because they won't base their teaching on the Bible, which tends to lead to prejudiced, paranoid and backwards thinking, which in turn, perpetuates strict, hard core conservatism.

Worse yet, is because public schools rely on tax dollars. Something they hate worse than anything else.

That having been said, I am ambivalent about the drag show law.

Not all parents have the brains or common sense to act in the best interest of their kids, so I'm not totally, 100% against a law that restricts drag shows to adults only. Maybe if it restricted the "performers" to wearing dresses and other kinds of outerwear, while disallowing skimpy, revealing lingerie in front of kids, I'd be OK with allowing them at venues where children can attend.

But then, I suppose that would defeat the purpose of drag shows to begin with.

Men trying to make themselves look like female tramps and ho's.

Indoctrinate; groom, whatever.  I first got that term from liberals on UP after Chapek blew out his o-ring and dropped his uterus in response to the Parental Rights Act. I never used that term bc it never came up in conversation, and bc I didn't realize that it was a thing.  But don't take my word for it as being a thing...straight from the horses' mouths:

Oh, YouTube does NOT allow imbedding of this video.  Fascinating.  Nevertheless,  just click on it.  It won't bite...just... click...and listen...

And for my follow up to this post, I will get the lyrics to that declaration of war and post them line by line with highlights.  And then, everyone that criticized DeSantis for all things Disney in 2022 can go f*ck themselves.  Enjoy:

Here we go...

You wasted a lot of time and effort doing all that, because it was totally unnecessary.

To that point, I've said many times in the past.... Never attempt to use facetiousness or sarcasm with conservatives because they never get it and will take it seriously.

If you think they were sending any message other than a thinly veiled, Sgt Hulka style...

....then maybe you need to take your sense of humor in for a tune up.

Or an overhaul.

Maybe just say screw it and trade it in for a new one.

"the right's never ending attempts to demonize..."

For example, did The Right create this video?

As for sarcasm and facetiousness...could you not feel it in my posting of those screenshots?

Give me the examples OTHER THAN this one where The Right overreacts and "demonizes"...because this issue has been laid to rest... we've got intent and confirmation.

So...no more hetero-shaming by the heterophobe community at large.

Actually, it occurred to me that I could have explained your little gay video much more simply and to the point.

Here it is.....

They're  taunting you.

Mocking you.

(By "you", I mean the right.)

Plain and simple.

It's a joke meant to piss you all off.

Make your heads explode.

IOW, they're just jerking your chains.

Is there some indoctrination of kids going on? Probably. But it's in the sense of trying to normalize gayness in the minds of kids. Something I am not in favor of with small kids because they're too young for that. With older kids, I understand the attempts to overcome prejudiced attitudes. OTOH, if they start trying to normalize men publicly running around in drag, I think that's pushing it.

But as for the whole idea of them "grooming" (preparing underage kids for sexual exploitation), with the possible exception of a very small few, I just think that's a load of BS.

Oh, I get that.  The taunting aspect...  Ask yourself this...are extremist Muslims political conservatives or political liberals?  Because based on track record, the I5I5-allied types have kids too...so...while gays and liberals in general like to thumb their proud noses at conservatives in the safe confines of the American vacuum,  while others are watching round the world and can't wait for their...opportunity...to do the ethnic cleansing the Palestinians are accusing Israel of, and the cleansing Hamas did on October 7.  So, my point is simply, that the same gays that support women in hijabs and the Palestinians because of their liberalism and shared "victimhood" should realize that extremist Muslims would have the same reaction to dead gays as they had towards dead Israelis...that of apathy and of a job well done.  This is a reality check to typical unrealistic liberals to travel abroad and learn something for a change instead of acting like a bunch of entitled a55holes.  Go to Saudi and try that video sh!t there.  Every one of them would have their heads on stakes in the public square by noon, where as here they get lauded and empathized with because of their perceived right to interfere with others'  parenting is abridged. People historically blame God why bad things happen yet those same pompous a55holes don't bother looking in the mirror. It's called karma.  Since Biden loves China so much, ask them what that is all about.  In the words of Kiefer in The Lost Boys...one billion Chinese can't  be wrong.

Okay, so you got that they were taunting you all, but you didn't get that they weren't being serious, because you took it as a serious threat.

So IOW, you still didn't get it.

Extremist Muslims? They are obviously far right conservatives. Religious fundamentalists. The Arab world's equivalent of our far right, gun stockpiling, paramilitary Christian fundamentalist hate-mongers.

They are David Koresh. Timothy McVeigh. Ted Kaczynski. Eric Rudolph. James Charles Kopp. Paul Jennings Hill. Scott Philip Roeder. Etc, etc.

As to your so-called "point" (there really isn't one in there), you're attempting to point out what you think is hypocrisy on the part of "lib'ruls" over their support for Palestinians, by lumping all the average, everyday, just want to mind their own business like everyone else Muslims, in with the far right-wing extremist nutjobs who persecute Arab gays and women. Meanwhile the left is the champions and defenders of gays and women here at home.

Of course, the obvious flaw in your misguided theory is, as I pointed out, the average Palestinian Muslims who us 'Murican lib'ruls support, don't tend to engage in that sort of right-wing conservative religious extremism.

But for the sake of argument, even if some Palestinians do support the persecution of Arab gays and women, that is still no excuse for Israel's policy of apartheid towards them. Which is what the left in America is protesting. If Israel insists on constantly poking the angry lion in the eye with a stick, they nor anyone else should act surprised when the lion occasionally lashes out with his claws and teeth.

you're so full of it.  You are the one bereft of any point.  My message was loud and clear.

they chant "we're coming for your children" in gay parades not necessarily in Florida as well.  Do you need a video clip of that so that you can reply "that wasn't necessary!" again?  Actually, it was necessary.  Them making choir videos and chanting in parades- just that alone- you try to say is the equivalent of receiving this type of text:  "I'm gonna ______ you next time I see you.  LOL."  It's like The White House making excuses for the $25M Biden Family received especially recently after Jean-Pierre is hammered by not only conservative reporters but liberal ones as well.  You are making excuses for the obvious as well.

The Left here at home uses leftist gays as one of it's "victim classes," not gays in general  See what they do to conservative gays and how conservative gays are treated.  I know four in particular (sales, realtor, and two admin assistants) that are conservatives and/or voted for Trump and when the social media scorpions learned of it they were extoled from that community.  They do the same thing to women, blacks, Muslims, and Jews.  It's all about The Left and Marxism and if you ain't on board, you're the enemy.  Leftist hypocrites.

The bottom line about Israel is that it's a free country, and it is the main western ally, and it is politically conservative.  When you have Antifa and BLM supporting Hamas and people like Taleeb etc (many Democrats) attacking Israel for trying to eradicate Hamas, anything you say on this subject falls on deaf ears because you are a political puppet.  When Pro-Palestinian supporters equate Hamas to the IDF and discredit what Israel has to say as being "conservative propaganda," it exposes what this is all about:  the "victims" (a new set this time) against the perceived "colonizers", which is what this whole Leftist movement has been about this whole time.  Don't even try and throw religion into it.

Obama was an anti-Colonialist (Marxist) too.  Same with the Pro-Palestinian activists.  Its just that this time, the "whitey" or whatever happens to be Jewish.
