    SunRail

The sunshine corridor is expensive, but I do think it will pay for itself if used by both Brightline and sunrail. Kudos to the politicians getting scared about $4 billion. The federal government should grant the entire damn thing and would be a gamechanger for this entire community. Pretty interesting how the federal government wastes money so fast on BS ventures that can pay this price tag 10 times over without a blink. Cough cough Ukraine $60 billion amongst many other wastes over the years.... cough cough unobtainable California high speed rail to San Francisco $100 billion and counting. https://www.orlandosentinel.com/2024/04/25/sunrail-link-to-airport-theme-parks-would-multiply-riders-and-cost-billions/
  2. If they really want to maximize things without rebuilding the main terminal building, I can see them razing the airsides and rebuilding the airsides with one long one north to south the entire distance from where airside 1 and 3 is as well as another one from where airside 2 and 4 is. Gates on both sides of these long airsides. Both sides still connected to the main terminal by the APM. Another option is to duplicate terminal C and D to the north terminal, just connecting via the APM's instead of that long sterile walk that is in terminal C currently. All that would be needed is for the future sky train to burrow under the cross field taxiways and the entire airport can be connected with a sterile air train. I wish I could be around in a hundred years LOL.
  3. Maybe in my lifetime I will get to see a terminal D. Who knows lol.
  4. 12 month rolling passenger count through March 2024 results are in. We added about 300k. 12 month rolling is at 58,711,443. We should break 59 million once April 2024 numbers come in. My guess is that we will be between 61 and 62 million for the calendar year if trends continue. This is gonna be a VERY BUSY summer season. Next year will build even further on this year considering Epic will be opening up. I can easily see us breaking 70 million within 5 years if the continual expansion of terminal C proceeds as planned.
  5. Wonder why theu didn't just do light rail. I mean the ROW was there with the road reconstruction. If they build 3 bridges, one at carrier universal, one at universal I drive, and carrier kirkman........ it could have even been all automated........ damn shame
  6. Didn't the county also just approve/divert more tourist funds to do upgrades to Kia Center at the Magic's urging?
  7. I am interested on some updates regarding Tao, Fairmont, and Nobu. Awfully silent, but maybe an announcement soon? W had some news recently.
  8. This is the most under the radar project simply because much of it is hidden from view. Even taxiing to the runway on the far end, very difficult to view. All we can hope for is that the slab is poured with a pit for the people movers LOL.
  9. However, I do have to give them credit for investing heavily in academics and recently got AAU status, which was a coup. Not even FSU has that.
  10. Hahahaha...... looks like a very familiar problem that OIA went through. https://www.sfgate.com/travel/article/sfo-oak-clash-san-francisco-bay-area-airport-name-19379664.php
  11. I believe it was ungraded before....so it was junk. Its an improvement.
  12. I guess you can...... but WTF. UCF had a much more solid plan and at the time, there was only two dental schools in the state, Nova in Ft Lauderdale and UF in Gainesville.
  13. Don't know where to put this, but I just saw that FAU is having it's dental school plans put on hold. Looks like it is related to the president search issue. Now, to the militants on here, please don't hijack this to become a Anti DeSantis pissing match. I am making this post because I am amazing to find out the school was already approved by the Florida board of governors for the state university system. How in the hell did they approve this when there is a dental school already right down the road at Nova? Wasn't UCF rejected years ago because of a "lack of need" in the state?
  14. This is interesting. Two hotels on the East parking lot of Icon totaling 500 rooms with a pedestal parking garage. and approval up to 450 feet. It better not be that high, or else it destroys the Orlando Eye view of Epic. at first glance, one might say that there is no way 500 rooms would have much height..... but when you think of the parking garage pedestal and the small footprint, it certainly can be quite tall. https://www.orlandosentinel.com/2024/03/29/new-entertainment-venue-hotels-and-retail-planned-for-icon-park/
