Soccer in Nashville

Here are the parking diagrams that Nashville SC has provided for upcoming games.  The club says this will account for 5,000 vehicles. I thought they might also include additional areas being offered by private companies in the neighborhood making their surface  lots available in the diagrams, but they haven't. When they have 30,000 person sellouts, they are going to be woefully short on parking, and the traffic/pedestrian flow in the area is going to be a cluster ***.

This will be the biggest test, and it's something that I foresee being a struggle with this site for a while. It can be a bit congested when the flea market is happening, and that doesn't have 30,000 people going in/out all at once. Not to mention that even more than just parking and stadium access, I still really think that all of the rail crossings nearby could potentially create disaster if one of the trains stops and blocks the road for extended amounts of time, which does still happen occasionally. If you are even relatively close enough to where you can walk or bike to the stadium, I'd definitely recommend it.

What is the difference in colors?

They may not be able to actually show the private companies that will be closing their business to provide parking because they are not going to have contractual agreements with them. I could forsee the businesses being a little slow to close and just do parking on gamedays because they are weary of the amount of people that will be looking for parking. Additionally, when SRX came to the racetrack, folks parked on either side of Craighead and they had traffic control for those cars. I would suspect we will see something similar.

Nashville SC readies for opening day sellout next Saturday.

Half of the 5,000 parking spaces the team controls around Geodis Park at the Nashville Fairgrounds have been sold. Others will be sold on a game-by-game basis.

Gameday traffic is expected to be challenging as fans get used to the new facility. Two WeGo bus stops are nearby, as well as accommodations for ride-hailing services, scooters and bicycles.

Don't have a Nashville SC stadium parking pass?  Here's where to park around GEOCIS Park:

If you don't have a parking pass but plan to drive a car

  • Two satellite lots at Fort Negley and Vanderbilt near the intersection of Fort Negley Boulevard and Chestnut Street offer a limited number of free first-come, first-serve spots starting four hours before kickoff. Tailgating is prohibited. Bring $10 in cash per person if you want to use the round-trip shuttle service to the stadium from Fort Negley Boulevard. The satellite lots are about 1.2 miles away from the stadium, an approximately 30-minute walk or a 10-minute bike ride.

If you plan to rideshare or ride a bus

  • Have a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft drop you off and pick you up curbside headed southwest on Craighead Street.
  • Use Neighborhood Hop's Gray Line service. If you're already a Neighborhood Hop member, the ride to GEODIS Park from any of the service's drop-off and pickup locations is free. A one day match pass is available for $20 at graylinetn.com/nashvillesc. Drop-off and Pickup locations include: M.L. Rose at Capitol View, Third & Home in Germantown, Thompson Nashville in the Gulch, Five Points in East Nashville, Mafiaoza's Pizza/12 South Taproom in 12 South and M.L. Rose in Melrose.
  • Ride the WeGo bus line on Route 52 (Nolensville Pike)
  • Book a luxury motorcoach Rally rideshare that picks up from a partnering pub. Tickets are $35 per person per game and can be purchased at rally.co/nsc-union. The partnering location in Davidson County is Fat Bottom Brewing at 800 44th Ave N.

If you plan to use alternative transportation

  • Bike racks are available at GEODIS Park on a first-come, first-serve basis. Bring your own bike lock.
  • GEODIS Park has a designated scooter parking area near the base of the staircase on Fair Park's southeast corner, accessible from Craighead Street. There are no charging stations available.
  • Walk. Pedestrian walkways border the stadium.
