This was from 2016 but gives you an idea of what the plan was for Sunrail and where they were planning on stopping at the ITF.

it looks like the "easement" to and from the CSX line is pretty much exactly where BL built it's spur to connect to it near the Maintenance Facility.

Yes, CSX also happens to be how Brightline takes deliveries for trains, cars, and associated parts

Tried the Train to Plane connection this morning. Boarding the train at Orlando Health/Amtrak to stepping off the bus at Terminal A was only 35 minutes.

After traveling to New York recently and using the Newark Airtrain-NJ Transit Connection and the LaGuardia SBS Connection, it’s always disappointing that we haven’t established a strong airport connector yet. The Plane to Train connection at Sand Lake Road is a needed link, but it just doesn’t do enough to satisfy evening and weekend flyers. With 50 million visitors to the airport, Orlando should easily be able to launch a branded airport connector service to Downtown/UCF/Nona/Attractions. Something to build up demand until the SunRail connection exists.

is that new 5+ story building with garage at Sligh & Copeland, across the street from Amtrak/Sunrail, considered TOD?

On paper yes. The reality is that its location is more to do with proximity to ORMC than the station.

Tried out SunRail’s mobile ticketing app. Much faster than buying a ticket from the old machines. My only frustration is that SunRail and Lynx now have separate mobile ticketing. Hoping PawPass gets rolled into the SunRail system for easier tickets and transfers.

ACTION REQUIRED

Dear SunRail Customer,

We have exciting news!

SunRail has launched a new Mobile Ticket app giving you more choices for how you like to travel.

This means all current SunCards will expire soon, but don’t worry. We have made it very simple for you to upgrade to the new system.

Option 1

Download the new SunRail Mobile Ticket app here. Your mobile ticket account offers all the same benefits as your plastic SunCard, PLUS you will no longer be required to tap on/off at stations. Simply buy a pass through the app before you board.

Option 2

If you prefer to carry a plastic SunCard or do not use a smartphone, soon you will be able to purchase a new SunCard at the newly installed white ticket vending machines located on each platform. You will need to register this card at SunRail.com and still tap on/off at stations each time you travel.

Whether you prefer to go mobile or continue to carry a card, any funds on your existing SunCard are still yours! Soon, you will receive a separate notification with instructions for how to sweep the funds over to your new mobile ticket account or SunCard.

BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR UPDATES REGARDING THIS UPGRADE BY FOLLOWING @RIDESUNRAIL AND OPENING EMAILS FROM SUNRAIL.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please view additional information at SunRail.com.

Sincerely,

The SunRail SunCard Team

The sunshine corridor is expensive, but I do think it will pay for itself if used by both Brightline and sunrail.  Kudos to the politicians getting scared about $4 billion. The federal government should grant the entire damn thing and would be a gamechanger for this entire community.  Pretty interesting how the federal government wastes money so fast on BS ventures that can pay this price tag 10 times over without a blink. Cough cough Ukraine $60 billion amongst many other wastes over the years.... cough cough unobtainable California high speed rail to San Francisco $100 billion and counting.

the Fed, it seems, has their ungodly amount of money ventures they back while letting infrastructure projects suffer.  It's happened whether its red or blue- this just happens to be the current iteration of it.  You would think that a priority list of projects would be made.  If they don't separate out FRA projects from other highway projects, then we're screwed b/c of the Baltimore bridge redo because that situation affects a major port and major commerce.  Maybe when they clear out the debris and reopen the port fully, the timetable won't be such a big deal.  But, its near DC so I reckon they're at the top of the list right now.

I think the Sunrail Corridor people will try to get BL to fund the Corridor (or just the airport link) and then it will be Sunrail paying them to use it...
