ACTION REQUIRED Dear SunRail Customer, We have exciting news! SunRail has launched a new Mobile Ticket app giving you more choices for how you like to travel. This means all current SunCards will expire soon, but don’t worry. We have made it very simple for you to upgrade to the new system. Option 1 Download the new SunRail Mobile Ticket app here. Your mobile ticket account offers all the same benefits as your plastic SunCard, PLUS you will no longer be required to tap on/off at stations. Simply buy a pass through the app before you board. Option 2 If you prefer to carry a plastic SunCard or do not use a smartphone, soon you will be able to purchase a new SunCard at the newly installed white ticket vending machines located on each platform. You will need to register this card at SunRail.com and still tap on/off at stations each time you travel. Whether you prefer to go mobile or continue to carry a card, any funds on your existing SunCard are still yours! Soon, you will receive a separate notification with instructions for how to sweep the funds over to your new mobile ticket account or SunCard. BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR UPDATES REGARDING THIS UPGRADE BY FOLLOWING @RIDESUNRAIL AND OPENING EMAILS FROM SUNRAIL. If you have any questions in the meantime, please view additional information at SunRail.com. Sincerely, The SunRail SunCard Team

it appears it is a new concept from the owners of Thrive. Its off of Society’s lobby and isn’t replacing their other location. Don’t know much more than that.

You don’t decide whether or not to build a bridge based on how many people are swimming across the river.

Its a better idea to the north than the south but the fact that you could rationalize a major local transit investment around ferrying Amtrak passengers trying to get downtown is simply madness. One doesn’t simply take a twice a day Amtrak train and then need 15 minute headways. As for the residents? They are closer to Orange Ave. We currently have 10-15 minute headways between LCS and Michigan (8 buses an hour). We don’t have a service issue, we have a simple branding issue. 1) Make buses free once they pass Michigan heading north. 2) Leverage technology to allow rides southbound free if you exit/tap off before Michigan 3) Place branded LYMMO-like stops along Orange Avenue that explain that you can get on any bus and it will take you towards Lake Eola and the station. 4) Tell the Amtrak passengers to walk 2 blocks and then tell them, “sorry for the convenience” I should add that dedicated lanes on Orange have never/will never be an option. So it wouldnt even be BRT.
