633 West Green Lane will be a 78.2 acre mixed-use project at the NW corner of the Briley Parkway/Whites Creek Pike interchange by Fifth Generation Property Company featuring up to 500 residential units (free standing homes, live-work  townhomes, conventional townhomes, apartments), retail/office space, and 40% green space/tree preservation zones. Catalyst Design  will handle land-planning/engineering. The team will go before Metro Planning on June 23 for rezoning of the undeveloped land.

The had their pre-construction meeting to start stormwater and grading. But it looks like they haven't even applied for building permits (or at least they haven't been logged in the system).

A little surprised. That area seems like it would be great for apartments. I wonder if the Publix/apartments that might go on 40th and Charlotte are making any progress or if that's dead too

3900 Charlotte Ave. (6 & 7 stories,  300 units, 46,000 sq. ft. Publix Grocery, internal garage) that was announced last year by CHM Development, now has the land under contract. The site needs to be re-zoned, so a closing may not happen until 2023.  STG Design will be the architect.

So that would be 3 Publix (Publixes? Publixii?) in a 7-mile stretch of Charlotte, plus one over on Harding. Wild.

The Chartwell at Watkins (5 stories, 750 units, 518 capacity garage) is finally underway (Phase I will be 377 units) in a partnership by EJF Capital and Chartwell Residential on 13.6 acres on the former site of Watkins School of Art/Fountain Square Cinemas in MetroCenter. Franklin Construction Group is the contractor, and this first portion should be open by early 2024. A rendering is below.
