Craft Brewed proposes tap room with rooftop bar in the Nations at 5101 Illinois Ave.  A BZA hearing is set for Feb. 17th to approve the concept.

It's a joke in our house that West Nashville always gets the 2nd (or 3rd etc) location of all the local faves from elsewhere in town rather than producing our own, but I am extremely excited for this particular one!

I think this is a good situation, let the cream rise to the top and then come on over to the Nations ha

Also there a few originals like, 51st Deli, Burger Joint, Daddy's Dogs, elPaseo Cantina and some good original dive bars like Centennial and Midnight Oil.

Don't sleep on Burger Joint. That is one of the better burgers I've had in Nashville.

This is currently the Take Away catering location right? Curious to know how drastically the interior is being revamped (I have no idea what it currently looks like inside). The sort of pasted-on rooftop bar over the existing slanted roof is certainly interesting.

The Nashville west wrecker area nearby is ripe for redevelopment. In fact it seems like every other block in the nations has an old cinder block building that can be redeveloped or repurposed.

I wonder how long all the builders lots along 44th and on top of the hill on Kentucky will hold out, seems like that land with a view must be pretty valuable. I guess half the view is the phosphate plant.

Nathan Lyons and his Vintage South Development has purchased the 11.1 acres of the former Genesco plant at 1101-1111 63rd Ave. North in The Nations for $20 million. VSD repurposes industrial sites into mixed-use projects featuring office, retail, and restaurant paces. There are essentially three 1 & 2 story structures on this parcel,  with what appears to be about 180,000 sq. ft. of space. Additionally, about 55% of the land is currently surface parking.  Lyons has not announced his plans yet.

That mill building is RIPE for a beautiful conversion to usable space such as condos/office. I don't think we would want another Marathon Village type retail building, but this has SOOOO much potential (sorry containing my drool a bit haha). The other buildings on site are meh, but the warehouse building (black roof) may be able to be converted into brewery/artisan/restaurant space.

If I had the developers ear, I would recommend saving everything outlined in RED, and scraping the rest of the structures in favor of some new, dense, mixed-use space.  You could prolly surface park the residential/office of the refurbished mill behind it, and then whatever is built new could be put in a structured garage.

What's also kinda interesting is the Parcel Viewer is showing that the Louisiana Ave that shows on Google Maps is actually privately owned once you get west of the bend in the road. There could definitely be an easement or ROW granted is site access were to be along Louisiana, but seemed interesting to me. I hope the primary site access for any parking structure would be aligned with Pennsylvania Ave (red arrow).

Orchard Hills will be a 4 story, 250 unit residential project with a 405 capacity internal garage and some ground level retail on 3.59 acres at 3720 Clarksville Pike by Nashville JV, LLC.  The architect is Southeast Venture; Kimley-Horn is in charge of civil engineering.  No word on when it will get underway.

Martin Management Group continues to accumulate land along Brick Church Pike where they will eventually relocate their Downtown Hyundai and Downtown Subaru auto dealerships from the Reed site along West End Ave.  They have now paid $23.95 million for a total of 10+ acres in and around 1973 Southerland Drive off of Brick Church Pike.
