If anybody is on this thread, go to Vista's cam, select Shockoe Bottom and scroll to the river. Do you see a ship at the Intermediate Terminal? I think I do. Maybe its the cruise ship I spoke of called The Nantucket.

Or maybe it's just my poor old eyes thinking they're seeing something.

Toured the building yesterday. I think the best views are on north west corners. Nice city and river views. The units that sit on top of the parking gareages have huge terraces. On the ground level, canal side, the two outdoor bays will be retail units. The two middle bays will be the Vistas' fitness room.

Residents up to floor 12 will move into their condos in June.

I discovered it's pretty easy to get tours of projects if you just go up and snoop around. If you look really interested, sometimes they'll invite you in and give a guided tour. That's how I got into Toads Place and The National.

Several years ago when a lady friend and I went to see apartments in Tobacco Row, the leasing agent was most pleasant; however, she required me to leave my drivers license in the rental office while she escorted us around. I was not offended because I'm sure agents, especially female ones, run into some awkward situations while showing apartments.

Venture Richmond is sponsoring tours of Vistas on the James and Lady Bird Building.

Arrive at Virginia Performing Arts Foundation office in the Turning Basin Bldg (behind Morton's restaurant) at 111 Virginia Street. Grab a muffin and coffee and get in line for tours departing every 15 minutes for Vistas and Lady Bird between the hours of 7:30AM and 9:30AM on Thursday morning, December 14th.

Thursday, December 14th. That's a week from this coming Thursday.

I hope lots of you can make it and give first hand reports to us out-of-towners. :D
