Yesterday they were calling for extras to come to Gillette dressed in red and black for a football game scene. Except the stadium is supposed to be in Arizona so you had to dress in summer clothes... Wonder how that worked out.

Thats nice, I wonder how they are doing that though, cause gillette has no field right now they ar eputting a new field in all week.

So Dan in Real Life is in nice full production. Monday night they were at the Apex Ziggurat (at least I think it was them) in the bucket, and last night they were all over Hope St. They converted Seven Stars into "YUMMS Bakery" and did filming there all day yesterday and yesterday evening.

Not related to Prov per se, but The Rock is filming a movie in Boston (The Game Plan) and has been working out at my gym near where I work. The man really is as large as he appears on screen.

I got a flier a few week ago from the production company doing Dan in Real Life asking if I would be interested in having them scout out my house as the setting for the movie. A lot of other people in my neighborhood got the flier as well. Of course I misplaced it and forgot about it.

Turns out they chose a house a few block away. Apparently, they put all your stuff in storage, paint the interior, put you and your family up in a hotel, and pay $1500 per day for about a week's worth of shooting. Yes, I'm kicking myself. On the other hand, it's really disruptive and I'm sure my immediate neighbors would have been giving me dirty looks had my house been chosen since they close off the entire street, etc. But I'm still kicking myself.

My aunt lives in Hyannisport and when JFK, Jr. died the Today Show rented the house next door for $10,000 a day (yes, 4 zeros) so that Katie could use it as her staging area for her live shots.

Fred Durst (well, the production company) gave us $2k for one night (!) of shooting on our roof in the Bucket for The Education of Charlie Banks...

I'm loving the film tax credit...

Really? Didn't know that. Yes, well, Rosecliff isn't exactly on my lunchtime walking route. Wee bit out of the way, doncha know. :P

I suppose I could have just waited to find out. This was -- not surprisingly -- all over the NewpNews today. Silly me.

I saw that. It's always fun to see familiar places on national TV. Too bad though that Summer flew bact to California for most of the episode. I suppose plot development matters more than promoting RI. :lol:

For those who missed it, the aerial was a transition shot into a scene at "Brown" (which is actually played by some school in CA). It was a view up the river past the courthouse towards the Citizen's building. The only other RI shot I noticed was one of the gates at the top of College St.

Best part of the episode.

"Its' people like you who hold back the chickens from flying free!"

"Chickens can't fly."

"Who are you to tell them what they can't do?" :rofl:

I figure the brown thing lasts about a quarter of the season, and then no more shots of pvd.

Angry Bond fans threaten to boycott new film

A group of James Bond fans have launched a Web site, www.craignotbond.com, to protest British actor Daniel Craig replacing Pierce Brosnan in the 007 film franchise, and boycott the upcoming Bond movie “Casino Royale.”

I for one am really excited about Casino Royal and I've really hated the last two or three Brosnan Bond films. I was very offended, because in this movie James Bond doesn't wear the tuxedo, so I lost a large interest in the movie.
