Can anyone paraphrase this.  Sentinel won't let me view without a subscription.  Title indicates it's about University Club, not Citi Tower (I'm interested in both).  An article back around July indicated Citi would break ground before year's end.  Time is running out.

If they have not submmited to permitting, it will be another 5 months from that point.

Reviewing the November MPB plans on Hyatt Place, it looks like the subject property includes the Church Street Ballroom (aka Club Paris).  While the plans don't include redeveloping that space, does anyone know if Hyatt will operate the Ballroom as a separate venue?

The ballroom needs to be finished. There is another ballroom sized space under the ballroom that is just storage of old CCS fixtures.

I went by late last week (about a week after the official groundbreaking). There were a few pickup trucks on the lot.  Maybe doing some surveying or something, but no dirt was being turned.

Is it just the bunker structure that comes right to the corner? Someone posted here not long ago that it had "DEMO" spray painted on it.

Correct ... It's just the bunker. The west wall closest to Robinson has already been torn out.

Yea I saw the DEMO a few months back, now the bunker, not the tower is coming down.

Yeah saw this in the morning on my way home from work. Actually looked like a crane had crashed into that north-west wall. The crane was parked inside a partially demo'ed structure without a driver or anyone for that matter insight. I meant to ask if anyone knew anything more about this.

It's about time they got rid of that ugly outcropping.

 

Hell, it was about time 20 years ago.

 

Hope they replace it with something cool looking.

 

And redo the sidewalk & curb, etc, etc.

Found another subtle clue mentioned in the Sentinel on Friday. The warehouse building that exploded last year is back in the news over a conflict with Dr. Phillips to save a wall mural. A building next door owned by Dr. Phillips Charities is being torn down, including a shared upper-level wall of the warehouse. The wall is a remnant interior wall from an upper level many years ago, however, it is now structurally supported by the DP building, so the guy doesn't have much of a case. At the end of the article it states: "Dr. Phillips plans to build something on the block, though plans have not yet been filed with the city."

 

So far, 2 of the 5 buildings owned by DP on that block are being demolished... the other 3 buildings don't seem to serve much purpose either so I hope they'll be demolished the future as well.

UCF's goal to open downtown campus in fall 2017

Hadn't seen a geographic placement of the campus before - and while it still could change - it seems like UCF would build on the south side of CV between a realigned Livingston and Robinson and Hughey and Parramore.

The Lucerne development has been downsized. Tallest building only 132' now. Everything else about the same.

Look for it to get downsized again to about half that.

 

Then again to about 3 or 4 stories.
