Putting in a request for some hi res pictures of the Omni at night with all the new neon lights. While I'm requesting, it would be cool to get some shot's of it with the skyline in the background as well...

Thanks! I would really appreciate it! I've seen ton's of pictures of the skyline during the day, but never really get to see any night time shots with everything lit up. I think that would be really cool to see with all the new construction and everything.

I drove around at night last Saturday and wish I had my camera. There can be some really good shots, especially around dusk. I will still try and get a few I took in Chicago, but just have not felt like it.

Nice pic. Boxy, yes, but the Omni has turned out better than I expected. The 5th Ave and KVB sides at street level are nearing completion and it looks like they will do a good job of activating those streets. Good choice of materials at street level on those sides also. The 4th Ave side is a different story...

Speaking of 5th Ave, I've noticed the resurfacing taking place between Demonbreun and Broad. The concrete pattern sort of extends the Hilton/Hall of Fame plaza across 5th to the arena and almost makes the whole area from the Omni/MCC/HOF up to Broad feel like one large civic space. The Bridgestone's new "back door" at 5th and Demonbreun should contribute to this. Based on the new traffic lights, it also looks like 5th will go to 2-way traffic between Broadway and KVB. Does anyone know?

That's an awesome perspective. I'm already trying to envision the Hyatt Regency, 505, SoBro, the rehabbed arena entrance, and possibly a building next to the Encore, and a redeveloped mixed use old convention center.

They look like completely new lights? So I guess they took down the previous installments? I can't wait to see the new design in person. I like the idea of having the lights, but I did not really like the design. I think having them in the short vertical layout makes the building look much smaller and "chubbier" It almost looks like a last min. thrown together idea. Also I am guessing that the gap in lights is not supposed to be there?

What the??? Just when I thought the Omni was starting to grow on me, they go and do this... They should have just left it alone. It's all f'd up now. Look's like they threw up a bunch of Christmas tree lights...

its the same lighting system it just changes colors to whatever omni wants to have on the building, like the lights on the elevator at cumberland park,

They are the same? I guess that means they could change up the design a lot then. Because in the first night pic the lights look like a solid strip of blue. But the newest set they look more like just a line of bulbs.

I agree with bigeasy...They look like totally different light's now. They look like cheap light bulbs vs solid neon lights before. I don't know what the deal is, but whatever they did it look's way worse and even tacky now. Lipstick on a pig is about how I would describe this newer revised look.

I'm guessing they're LED's, which would probably make the look pretty versatile.
