if Lincoln Harris gets built instead, oh well. At least crescent got Stonewall Station

I don't think that the LH project comes at the exclusion of Tryon Place, though.  It seems fairly obvious that there is an anchor for LH's project.  And I presume that anchor is probably going to take most of the space in the tower since it's going to be a somewhat iconic tower of ~1mil sqft/600+ ft; I don't see how a developer could justify building such a tower if only a small portion of it is to be used by the anchor.  I guess what I am saying here is I don't see the LH building as a threat to Tryon Place because I suspect whoever is the anchor tenant will take most-if not all-of the building.  This means that we shouldn't have to worry about hundreds of thousands of sq ft of Class A office being dumped onto the open market and killing off Tryon Place.  If the LH building were spec, then I think it would be the death knell for Tryon Place, but since it [presumably] isn't, I am not too worried about one being built at the detriment of the other.

I hope this is the correct scenario.

Any updates?

When there are, they'll be posted here. There won't be updates without this thread being active. Trust me, there's none of us out there in the know that will be jogged to an update from an "any updates" post. When there is, it'll be posted.

Couldn't that have been said a little less big-headed?

Probably yes. But that poster does that ALL the time (see: the courthouse thread). 9 times out of 10 when there's updates on a project UP knows about it. There's no need for constant "any updates" posts to dredge up old threads for nothing.

That said I am waiting for a few updates on this project so hopefully there WILL be updates soon.

Yeah, it's a real shame when there are people that also get excited about these projects and are eager to hear more. You've similarly responded like a jerk in those other threads. You don't hold the keys to the castle as much as I think you like to believe it, and you're not the sole knowledge holder of this or any project. UP is not a member's-only club

Never said it was or I was all knowing. They are not keys I'd want or care to have, so I've never claimed to hold them. So please don't go thinking I believe I hold them.

Should I have ignored the post like everyone else would have? Sure. Probably should have played it that way, but that particular person does that ALL the time and it just rubbed me the wrong way, and the point is UP has a pretty good track record that when there are updates, they're posted. apologies to those offended.

I have been reading these forums for about 10 years now, just recently decided to join, although i don't have much value to add as I live approximately an hour away.  I started really enjoying development when i used to live near UNCC.  I can see both sides here, someone that may not be as much in the know and wants to "re-energize" a conversation and someone that is more involved, that wants good flowing topics and that will contribute as info is available.  The main point, IMO, is the approach to anyone's comment, as it's a reflection of the community itself.  It may be a deterrent to outsider and to some who want to participate. Just my 5 cents. :)

Never said it was or I was all knowing. But I remember in the guidelines somewhere that you could get a suspension on your account for posts like that. Just saying when it adds no value and bumps a thread up and gets people excited it's frivolous. Rather than actually adding value. Again. People will post things when there updates.

They are not keys I'd want to have anyway, so I've never claimed to hold them. Just a place for information that's getting harder and harder to browse.

I saw  the Courthouse Thread was updated and checked it only to see the "bump" post. I was highly disappointed. As annoying as that is. I would let the key holders do their work. A little less attitude can definitely go a long way.

Bam! You hit the mail on the head NikolaTesla. BTW I LOVE your username haha. We want to attract more posters to our community, and any perceived slight can run people off of this site or make them think twice about being a participant.
