OK, I don't think anyone is going to take a guess on THE CAMEL. Dubbed "Richmond's Social Oasis", it is located at 1621 West Broad. "It provides space for music, art, poetry, video, political forums, conversation -- anything that brings people together in the spirit of a free flow of ideas."

By mid April, it is hoped that a restaurant taking up one side of the lower floor, will be ready to open.

The owner, Alan Schintzius, has a contract with a Sufi coffee-roasting master.

NEW QUIZ: What is the name and location of the oldest restaurant in Metro Richmond?

Hint #1. It is not in the city limits.

Hint #2. It has been around since 1760.

Hint #3. It's on a major north/south highway. (And there are two places miles apart that might qualify, but one is older than the other.)

NEW QUIZ: Locate and name a restaurant that enjoyed a respectable reputation in New York City before expanding about a decade ago to Richmond. It is in a toney, upscale shopping center. It has been sold in recent years, but retains the original name and serves up some excellent "ethnic" cuisine.

Hint #1. It's not far from U of R.

OK. Hint #2 at 8:32am on 3/21/07 - It's Italian.
