I know what you mean, I like bold and innovative designs like you'd see in Dubai and other places but I wasn't quite sure how to react to that one myself.  It's definitely unconventional but also kind of weird.  But to be honest I'd prefer it to a run of the mill glass box and I think people would gradually start to like it!

I think the buildings are really cool. It's no longer Turkey by the way, they changed their name. It's now Türkiye . My copy and paste looks weird, lol.

I'm not sure when exactly I-65 was completed in Nashville, but I spent my pre-teen years ('64-'74) in east Nashville.  Which definitely would have been before and during the time I-265 was built.  I remember always having to go across the Jefferson Street Bridge to go visit relatives and family friends that lived in north and northwest Nashville.  I also remember taking the Victory Memorial Bridge to visit family and friends that lived in the Wedgewood/Belmont area, so maybe I-65 wasn't fully complete or maybe my dad just always chose to go through the downtown.  We had relatives in Smyrna as well and if I recall we also cut through town to hit US41-S (Murfreesboro Road) and drove that route all the way to Washington Street, which at the time was the hub of Smyrna.

Ya'll need to stop posting all these old pictures.  It's a reminder of my age that I still haven't accepted fully... LOL!!!  You'll know what I mean when you get there... LOL!!!

Back when I was working  a summer at Brush, Hutchison & Gwinn Architect,  I had to build a large model of Fort Negley Hill for the new Children's Museum (now Adventure SC) .  The inner loop and connection at I65 did not exist at that time , so I had to make the model using the highway blueprints for the new intersection of the planned interstate.  This was in the summer of 1967, so the interstate most likely opened around 1969. or 1970 with the new Silliman Evans bridges over the Cumberland.  This period  was in the middle of the very Cold War and working in an upper floor of the new Third National Bank Tower, I had no idea that Nashville tested its air raid sirens on the first Wednesday of every month at noon.  At lunch that day, alone in the office when the sirens went off,  I thought my young ass was toast.

Howdy y'all.  your favorite UPer from Charlotte is in Smashville!  Couple I snapped today of your burgeoning skyline from atop Fort Negley.   Today Music City USA.  Photo overload but hey I'm  a tourist.   Never have been to this fort before and I love the views.  Will come back on my annual trips to see the changes.   That guitar at the Warehouse I just love!  Ask @smeagolsfree had to get him to tell me where it was since I could see it from the fort.

As always great shots. I hope you got to learn a little history about the fort too. There use to be a great vista looking towards West End I thought, but maybe that is higher. You need to invest in a drone.

Oh I have West End shots just not posted them yet.  Really like that Fort and the views it gives.  Really have a long drawn out skyline from downtown to Midtown area.

Your eye goes to the high rises and mine go to the gas tanks that used to be where The Muse is now sitting. Hope that they can eventually move from other locations around the city haha.

They were actually located across the street beside the former school building.
